BHX has only recently gone to twice daily on TK so three times daily is likely a little way off. I notice that the usual September aircraft upgrades were absent this year.

Meanwhile, PIA is waiting for clearance to restart UK flights from the CAA, which apparently may happen soon, despite the airline being bankrupt.

PIAs chances have been lowered now, as Boeing and airbus are considering to stop supplying parts to them.

A bit of speculation.

I notice P&O have charterd Maleth-Aero A332-200s to operate some of their regular winter fights to BGI from MAN & LGW in place of TUI with whom they have a long standing relationship which includes charters to the Mediterranean and the Canaries in addition to Barbados and Antigua.

I wonder if BHX will see anything from Maleth as we are the other main base for their BGI winter programme. It would be a new operator for BHX and I also am thinking that maybe its a consequence for TUI and the poor performance over the last two years, cruise lines definitely do not take kindly to the sort of delays TUI have been getting, its a massive logistical issue for them so reliability is key.

Anyone heard any whispers?

Oi Rollo......don't tempt fate. I don't want Maleth anything on my flight to Barbados in December. The P&O online groups are full of livid people who have just found out they're been lumped on Maleth with no IFE and no premium section for a nine hour flight. First world problem for sure, but it's a problem! The backlash it seems is quite large for p&o. People are cancelling and/or deciding to book with other cruise lines.
Maybe a storm in a teacup....but I hope it's a storm that stays in the south or the north and keeps firmly away from the Midlands 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

...also I've heard that Maleth was in addition to Tui and not replacing them.

I feel your pain and your opening words made me smile 😃

We've used the TUI premium service and its not bad but has become a bit overpriced for what you actually get given alcohol is free to everyone ( not kids) on those flights.

I not sure about folk cancelling as a change of carrier is not normally classed as a material change so long as you are transported to your destination so it will cost to cancel.

Enjoy your carriabean holiday and Bridgetown arrival procedure for your cruise flight is a novel experience-clue don't expect to enter the terminal just look for a hole in the fence as you get on your coach? Oh and don't take too much hand luggage nowhere to put it on said coach.

We plan to go after Christmas waiting for the usual price drops which normally happen Nov/Dec.

When I read that people were cancelling I thought there's not a cat in hell's chance that P&O will allow that free of charge. P&O don't do free! As with all things related to Tui and everyone else these days.....charge more get less. I've used their premium service before and it's now pricey for a premium economy that's not all that. Business class it absolutely isn't.
However....I'll take it over Maleth Aero. Fingers crossed the flight stays Tui.....and hope you get booked up for the new year 👌

Under the Chinese rule of one route one carrier, MAN is taken: HU to PEK and Juneyao to PVG, so probably not that. More likely is it’s a charter series…or freight?

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
