BHX highest ever day (total pax) is 52k back in 2017, this is unlikely to be broken in 2025

The highest daily departing pax figure so far in 2025 is 27.1k on 27th July

I am not trying to argue at all just posting the facts which are 100% correct.

Your number sound to me like like the number of potental pax i.e seats not actual 'bums on seats'

The figures I get are the ones supplied by the airlines for the amount of passengers that have booked and are used throughout the airport, yes there may be 'some varience' but not by 1500

You need to realise Ben that a) you’re not the only person on this forum who works at the airport b) you’re not the only person on this forum with with access to the live and accurate passenger figures and c) there are people in this forum that work in much senior positions than you may work at both the airport and associated airlines which may have more knowledge to offer.

No one here is trying to argue with you.
Maybe just accept and respect the inputs of other that have more accurate information than you.

What I hope is not in the minds of some US majors is that BHX and MAN are not even secondary markets but tertiary markets. Literally if all else fails then we'll look at those airports

Its an odd quirk as it is, where they chose to open a small international base in the UK. I doubt it will be replicated anywhere else and am sure Aer Lingus have no plans to do so....

UK-US flights are operated by Aer Lingus (UK) Limited which is a UK company holding a UK AOC. There isn't any reason in principle the operation couldn't expand and include a hub at another UK airport to operate more UK-US flights.

UK-US flights are operated by Aer Lingus (UK) Limited which is a UK company holding a UK AOC. There isn't any reason in principle the operation couldn't expand and include a hub at another UK airport to operate more UK-US flights.

Aer Lingus UK have publicly said they have no plans to open anymore UK bases.

I still think (my opinion) that if the pax cap at Dublin gets raised they will move back to Dublin and end the UK part.

But the UK operation has been around long before the cap was ever an issue? Maybe Aer Lingus could cede the Manchester operation to BA and move the aircraft back to Dublin (or elsewhere in the Uk)

U would expect it to be A321 aircraft with some of there routes they currently serve from bhx to be operated by bhx aircraft.Lets hope it actually happens.Bring back pre COVID routes of krakow,Bratislava,Poznan.Getting ahead of myself again

I would but depends when it will or could happen and if they have the available aircraft Ian.With the airport making constructive changes to 80-86 stands it will be interesting what will happen next summer

In fairness, unlike other airlines, Wizz have been none to launch bases with just 1 or 2 aircraft... The Wizz bases previously at CWL/DSA for example were both 2 each i believe.

Alas, in the event Wizz are even considering a base at BHX, until anything is announced, all else is just pie in the sky talk!
