Jet2 have lots of aircraft arriving from September this year.
I may be totally off though.
We'll see.

We are currently screening candidates for a reputable growing airline, who will shortly be based at three of the UK’s busiest airports, one of which being Birmingham. In 2015 over 6 million passengers on the continent flew with them.
Mine is just a guess based on current rumours. Jet2 do seem to fit, although I note the point about passengers flown 'on the continent'.
I'd say the UK's busiest airports could be any of those in the top 10 or so and I'd certainly say Bristol qualifies. Possibly not Cardiff, although adverts can be 'spiced up' shall we say.
My opinion is that if it is a new airline to the UK looking at adding a base at any of the airports above Birmingham (LGW/STN/MAN/LTN/EDI) then I'd imagine that at least one of those would take preference for the first allocation this autumn and BHX would follow for summer with the other one?
Pure speculation of course.
If it is to be Jet2 would they want to create a new base at BHX when they are already heavily involved with another airport just up the M42 - East Midlands?
As I'm sure was the case with others viewing that for the first time, my first thought was "long haul?" Then I thought it could just be referring to the new based A321 for W16/17. Then I changed my mind again because Thomas Cook have already announced the routes which will be flown by the A321.Thomas Cook are planning additional routes for winter (so far undisclosed).
The least exciting possibility is that they're simply extending some summer-only routes into winter to make maximum use of the new A321.
I had the same thoughts.
The word 'additional' rather than the word 'new' makes that a strong possibility.
Another interesting point is the graph of the landing fees. Narrow bodies are roughly in line with other airports but wide bodies look around double.
The article also shows a map of direct/indirect routes from BHX. Probably nothing but it appears to show ORD as direct.
