Im pretty sure i know which airline this is but is it not for public
knowledge? Do the routes team not want speculation on this,
just wondering why the airline name is not mentioned?

If you say who you think it is I'll say whether it's the same one or not, it'll be interesting to see if it is? It seems to be being discussed in more and more places now so I guess it won't matter.

In other news Mr Kehoe has tweeted they they are 'working on key routes and Vienna is one of them'.

Hi Ray,
Although it seems a ridiculous idea,I have been told that the
routes team have talked to Air New Zealand about a service
via Hong Kong! It would be truly amazing if it were true

Air New Zealand do flights from LHR to LAX. Wonder if they would also look at that as it would give BHX a west coast option as well?

On a slightly different tact, I haven't seen this reported yet, but I now notice a Virgin code share on some of the Flybe flights to/from Glasgow, so on checking the Virgin website it appears you can now book Birmingham to Orlando via Glasgow.

Could they be testing the water to see if this route is viable to warrant a direct service in the next couple of years?

Lots of rumours at the moment, ANZ would be amazing but it's not one that I'm going to get my hopes up over.

Yeah - ANZ are not likely to expand in Europe using their metal for some time.

Even if/when they did I expect that: (a) it would not be to the UK; and (b) it would not be BHX (I think it would be viable but suspect more money could be made elsewhere...)

Great to see the expansion in the regions!

And do you know everything, i suspect you dont.

I don't know much.

However it is common knowledge that ANZ are focusing on the Pacific rim and have in effect a moratorium on new european routes.

The rest I don't think is particularly controversial but each to their own (and never say never)!

Just an idea but United Airlines are in Star Alliance and so are Air New Zealand. Could it be possible United Airlines do the LAX and they codeshare?

Is it possible that Star Alliance maybe creating a round the world route using airlines and routes that would allow it? Rather than one airline committing an aircraft for a global circuit? A major like ANZ may well be the key to unlock the door!!

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
