Well, I'm not getting into that debate again as I still firmly believe there was compelling cases for both airports, but, good news for BHX all the same.

Must be Norwegian surely, as that was the last airline I saw you mention about competition and which airport would get it etc.

Unless it's a transit stop from Air India to which I wouldn't have expected any other airport really in the frame anyway?

If it is Dreamliner, then there's also a possibility, although small, that it could be a Chinese airline (e.g. Air China) with a couple of routes.

I thought this as well.China Southern also have B788s.
However if it is a Dreamliner service then Norwegian is favourite, although I think they still need to clear the US problem.Services going East though would be great for BHX.
One thing is definite though,it would appear that BHX has been chosen as an alternate for Thai,if or when they start their MAN flights.
Should MAN be unavailable for any reason, then BHX is in with a shout of a divert.(y)

One does not want to be too cryptic, although things may need to get just a little tougher ;)

Remember at this stage it's just rumour, lets not crack open the bubbly until we hear something official :)

Come, come Mr F we need to know a little bit more about your provenance... If you worked in W H Smiths at Birmingham Airport or, indeed, an office cleaner at the airport, i might choose to dismiss your tease. However, if you do work somewhere with a close liaison with airlines and routing, then your comments would have greater weight for me. So, Mr F, just let us know what your links are with the airline industry and then we can make up our own balanced judgments.

Well as you are obviously congratulating BHX, do you know what this news is ?? Im not asking you to spill the beans.

I don't work at Smiths and am definitely not a cleaner, Mrs F will vouch for that (y)

Rumours come from various sources, none of which will be named.

I will never guarantee that something is going to happen unless the source is a senior figure from the airport or airline that has commented publicly. I always try to do my best to keep people grounded and go out of my way in every post to remind people that it is still just rumour.

People can choose to believe, people can dismiss it out of hand, it really makes no difference to me. The rumour is there, take it or leave it.

Either we'll have an announcement in the future and we'll know it was true, or it will fade into nothing and we'll then know it wasn't.

As ever only time will tell :)

And we have

But do you mean Mr Ray F or Mr Ian F, We have x2 F's that are valuable members of the BHX forum :)

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!
If anyone would like to share their local airport news right here in our news area let me know so I can give you the correct permissions to do so. It only takes a couple of minutes to upload a news story with an accompanying image. The news items can then be shared on the site homepage by you. #TakePart #Forums4airports Bring the news to one place!
survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
