La Palma is rather up market compared to Gran Canaria !

It also very much a winter destination popular with Germans and weather much better

Perhaps they’re only going there once! :whistle:

Very good.

Depending on which parts you go to we visit twice a year to Puerto Mogan pretty much evenly split between British and Norwegian/Scandinavians with a good sprinkling of Irish a lovely quiet family /adult resort we are going in April and October from BHX of course, La Palma is nice also, don't understand your comment re the weather

try this link BrumX, they seem to think Las Palmas is called La Palma!!

https://primeraair.com/destinations/la-palma/

Primera Air fly to La Palma and Gran Canaria (Las Palmas) so that is why La Palma is on there website. Its still shoddy work from BHX. The team at BHX should be well aware of the destinations that Primera Air will be serving so my annoyance still stays im afraid Matt :(

La Palma avoids much of water that drops from the sky’s between November and February in Northern Grand Caneria and Tenerife.

Really ?? But why ?? I dont mean to sound sarcastic here but if there is a deep depression over this part of the atlantic it would just engulf the entire group of islands including La Palma :confused: so i dont understand why this particular island would be saved from this weather.

Anyway i think we are going slightly off topic ;)

Airbus flew an A321LR on a record flight of 4109nm from Seychelles to Toulouse.

Not that I'm getting my hopes up but Birmingham to Orlando is roughly 400nm less.

That's why the vast majority of the tourist resorts are in the south then, as I said depends on which parts you go to.

Lol

That'll be the same expert team that informed us that there were no direct flights to Orlando.

Some stats based on the above

A321neo Range = 4,800 Miles / 4,100 NMiles (11 Hours)

Speed = 430 mph / 370 nmph

BHX - MCO = 4,250 Miles / 3,700 NMiles

Difference = 550 Miles / 400 NMiles / 1:15 hrs of flying time.

Ok this flight was a test flight and may not be an official Range but if it were, carrying over an extra hour of fuel would be more than enough to overcome the considerations you discuss!

Other potential destination in that range?!

BHX-ATL = 4,200 Miles
BHX-MBJ = 4,600 Miles
BHX-ORD = 3,800 Miles
BHX-CUN = 4,800 Miles (pushing it)
BHX-DXB = 3,500 Miles
BHX-ATQ = 3,900 Miles
BHX-DEL = 4,200 Miles
BHX-GOI = 4,700 Miles (pushing it)
BHX-NBO = 4,300 Miles

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!
If anyone would like to share their local airport news right here in our news area let me know so I can give you the correct permissions to do so. It only takes a couple of minutes to upload a news story with an accompanying image. survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
