Odd flights to Cork and Shannon have appeared on the Ryanair website.

Both have two inbounds on Fri 19th Apr and one on Sat 20th April with one return flight each on Sat 20th and two on Sun 21st.

Anyone know what is happening that weekend?
Munster are playing Saracens at the Ricoh in Coventry in the Heineken cup semi final.

June 2019 will see Ryanair increase flights to ALC, AGP and PMI making the total departures per week 150. This will mean 11x extra departures per week in June 19 over June 18 which saw 139.

Below are the routes in June 2019 that have had frequency changes in comparison to June 2018. The other 22x routes remain unchanged.
Increases
ALC
: 13x weekly (10x weekly in June 2018) +3
AGP
: 13x weekly (9x weekly in June 2018) +4
PMI
: 11x weekly (7x weekly in June 2018) +4
FAO
: 9x weekly (7x weekly in June 2018) +2
KRK
: 3x weekly (2x weekly in June 2018) +1

Decreases
LPA
: 2x weekly (3x weekly in June 2018) -1
VNO
: No flights (2x weekly in June 2018) -2

Alicante finally goes double daily in July with the second Wednesday added.

Update on winter - a very odd Christmas increases and I assume a drip drip as usual with an extra BZG on a Monday for 3 weeks on a based aircraft but that is it other than an away based Krakow making it 4 a week for 3 weeks.

The bad news is that Las Palmas and Verona are still weekly and coincidentally Oporto continues in winter at 2 a week - same number of flights? Smacks of a minimum flight agreement.

Also worth noting Dublin, Palma, Alicante, Faro and Malaga are bookable next summer which has never happened before going on sale before the full schedule.

An interesting paragraph is
“We primarily wanted to lock in Ryanair to the island as it is the main carrier here and we have therefore got a certain level of dependency on it as a country,” a government source familiar with the workings of the deal said.

A lesson there for the let’s go orange brigade - eggs and baskets spring to mind

Possibly because Malta is EU and GIBRALTAR is considered to be UK territory for sovereignty reasons or Mr. O'Leary has pushed the expansion button. Good business for Gibraltar!

I apologize, good for Malta if that is acceptable to them.

It's been widely publicised today that Ryanair are looking to close their bases at Faro, Las Palmas and Tenerife with Girona under review.

Faro is already bookable for S20 with 3 or 4 weekly flights being on Faro based aircraft. The other routes mentioned are not yet bookable past winter.

It will be interesting to see what, if any, changes we see at BHX.

That is something i feel is often overlooked when Ryanair's commitment to BHX is discussed. The amount of flights operated by away based aircraft. It is not all about based aircraft.. The timings also help the airport to make better use of their facilities.

I also wonder if having a smaller range of destinations available from BHX when compared to other airports actually makes it less susceptible to situations such as this. There are reports on other forums of possible cuts to come at EMA.

I've just read that the Faro base is apparently to close from this winter. The article suggested no route closures so it will be interesting to see what happens at BHX where all three winter flights are currently operated by Faro based aircraft.

It could still be done with an away based aircraft (e.g. STN or MAN) on a W pattern.

Ryanair pilots have voted to strike going on strike according to Auntie. Glad all our eggs are not in one basket. Very rapid growth is not sustainable and now O'Leary understands why.

In a fight they will still be among the last standing. Their abrasive penny pinching may have alienated some people but i keep reading
about the huge cash reserves they have as a result.

It would need to be as the based BHX aircraft don't have the slack to cover it, unless there are cuts elsewhere. I'm not aware of the schedules at other bases and whether there is scope for W patterns.

I'm just wondering if any UK bases will now see extra aircraft added to cover these and if that does happen, whether there will be room to squeeze in a new route or two.

After the base closures in the Canaries we've now got the changes in the booking section.

Tenerife sees the Monday flight moved to a Tuesday where there was a gap so remains at 4x weekly, Arrecife loses one flight from Jan so will be 2x weekly and Las Palmas was reduced down to weekly way before these closures so no change.

Faro is still showing as 3x weekly on a FAO based aircraft so one to keep an eye on for changes.

S20 is slowly becoming bookable, Katowice is now showing still at 2x weekly.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
