Birmingham: Ryanair Route Flights, New Routes & Base Updates

This what I’ve been told from a few crew that are still working at Ryanair:

7 aircraft until end of May then 8th joins from 1st June as on booking system already due to aircraft delivery delays

9th aircraft postponed due to:
Aircraft delivery delays. But also due to lack of experienced cabin crew that meet requirements (in time for summer) to be upgraded due to over hiring, Which is currently resulting in mass resignations due to lack of liveable wage. (some crew have only received 40 hours in summer months and 10 hours in winter months. See the pay rates below to see why they not happy). In fact they so over staffed they actually stopped training and have a waiting list for people to start training courses and Ryanair never stop training courses normally when one finished they start the next course 3 or 4 days later even during the pandemic.

All planned new routes will also not go ahead at this time but of course is subject to change.View attachment 31727

The late delivery of Boeings will affect Ryanair bases all across Europe, so not really likely i would have thought.
We all need to be patient and see what develops later next year.

Ryanair confirms UK will miss out on 2025 expansion​

will take delivery of up to 29 Boeing 737 aircraft in 2025 but said it would not issue any in countries including the UK which are raising aviation taxes.
The carrier said the aircraft deliveries represented a a $3 billion investment in new aircraft technology that would create more than 2,000 new jobs for aviation professionals in Europe.
It the new aircraft would be allocated to “efficient, low-cost airports in EU countries where governments are stimulating aviation growth” including Sweden, Italy, Spain, and Poland.
However, it confirmed: “There will be no growth in countries raising taxes, like the UK, France, and Germany.”
The airline claimed the investment made it the only major airline in Europe set to deliver “traffic, tourism, and jobs growth” across the continent next year.
It previously cited delays with aircraft deliveries as a contributing factor as it reported an 17% dip in half-year profits, and warned it would cut UK capacity by “up to 10%” after the government confirmed a rise in Air Passenger Duty in its October 30 Budget.
Head of communications Jade Kirwan said: “While most of Europe’s airlines remain capacity constrained, Ryanair is on track to take delivery of 29 new Boeing 737 aircraft in 2025.
“This additional capacity will enable Ryanair to grow our passengers from 200 million in 2024 to 210 million in 2025, and create 2,000 new jobs for highly paid aviation professionals at many of Europe’s most efficient, low-cost airports where governments are stimulating sustainable aviation growth by abolishing aviation taxes and lowering airport fees.”
Ryanair said the new B737 aircraft will carry 4% more passengers while cutting CO2 emissions by 16% and noise by 40%.

I suspect one is a convenient excuse for the other...

This has nothing to do with Govt policy, more to do with aircraft delays so its a great excuse to shift what limited capacity you have to the countries that help push a companies narrative.

The reality is, Ryanair is only one airline serving the UK population. If there is demand and Ryanair don't want to satisfy that demand, then others will. This gives the likes of Easyjet an open goal to aim for. I would also be pissed to any UK airport (and i suspect BHX is one of them) who have struck a deal with Ryanair for them to use this as a get-out even if its totally outside their control.

Interesting times ahead... though i suspect its just spin...

All of those routes make sense for BHX and in my opinion a very good selection by their RD team but with Ryanair saying last week that the UK will see limited growth due higher APD will this come to fruition ?

It would be superb if it did !
