Didn't come from a website, came from an e-mail, maybe I won't bother next time ?

Other forum reports extra flights by Thomsons in summer 2015. Are they extra or replacing other rotations ?

I'm thinking of using TOM from DSA to go to Cyprus later in the year. Can anyone fill me in on what they are using for these flights please and how comfortable (or not) the seating configuration is on them?

Reason for having a look at TOM is that I doubt I would be able to bear the Jet2 seats for 4+ hour flight to Cyprus and wonder if the Tommo flight would give me some comfort. Heres hoping anyway!

It'll be a 737-800, quite new, however it will be In a typical charter configuration of 189 seats, which is the maximum you can have! When I last went on one the seats were quite comfy (went to Kos so a similar flight length) however leg room was an issue. What I can guarantee is that they will be a LOT more comfortable than Jet2's seats, which are quite positively awful (and the fact the aircraft will be slightly more modern, the current DSA based aircraft are about 18 months old).

Thanks for that ryan. I have used Jet2 a lot and those Acro seats are, as you say, awful. Most recent trip with them was BUD a couple of weeks ago and even though I chose extra legroom seats couldn't get comfortable at all. Haven't flown with Tommo for years but if they have newish aircraft with decent seats, even if the legroom is tight, I'll be prepared to give them a go.

Do what I do when flying charter/low cost - go onboard expecting the worst and come off pleasantly surprised! ;)

You guys are far too particular. When I get on an aircraft I couldn't care less what the seat pitch is, how many channels are on the on-board TV and Radio or anything else for that matter. I just care that I arrive at my destination safely. :s_yes

A post on another forum says that TUI will operate a weekly flight to Hurghada, Egypt in winter 2018/2019.

Doncaster Sheffield Airport, one of the fastest growing airports in the country, is continuing to expand its already impressive range of over 40 destinations across Europe and beyond as it welcomes two new TUI routes, Naples, Italy and a first to the airport, Hurghada City, Egypt.

With the first flight to Naples taking off on May 7th 2018, holiday makers will be able to take advantage of the flights leaving every Monday throughout the summer months, with departures up until the end of October 2018. The new routes will add in the region of 20,000 new seats of capacity.

These new flights to Italy’s third largest city are on sale now and will provide sun-seekers and culture vultures alike with the perfect opportunity to soak up the sights and sounds of Naples’ historic centre, a Unesco World Heritage Site. Along with the city’s wealth of history, art and architecture waiting to be discovered, there’s also the renowned Italian pizza, pasta and gelato to be sampled!

TUI will also be operating a new weekly route to Hurghada, Egypt for those looking to book a holiday for winter 2018/19. Hurghada City is the second largest Egyptian city on the Red Sea and, thanks to its world-renowned coral reefs, one of Egypt’s leading holiday destinations.

Named as the UK’s best small airport under 10 million passengers by Which? consumer group, Doncaster Sheffield Airport offers an unrivalled customer experience from the moment of arrival. The airport scores highly for terminal parking close by, queues at security, passport control, baggage drop and most significantly the friendly ‘Yorkshire welcome’ from staff.

Chris Harcombe, Aviation Development Director, Doncaster Sheffield Airport, said: “We are thrilled to introduce this summer time route to Naples and a brand new route to DSA, in Hurghada City, Egypt. It is fantastic news for the local area, and for the wider Yorkshire region – with DSA now being even more convenient and well connected, thanks to the Great Yorkshire Way motorway link road and new direct bus services from Doncaster and Sheffield.

Karen Switzer, Director of Aviation Planning for TUI UK & Ireland, said: “We’re excited that one of our first steps as TUI, a truly global brand, is to offer greater choice for our customers in Yorkshire. Introducing the new routes from Doncaster Sheffield Airport is a key part of our strategy to offer all our customers as much choice as possible to give them the holiday experience that best suits their individual needs. Holidaymakers in the local area will now have wider access than ever before to our diverse collection of destinations and hotel concepts.”

Tui Airlines UK seems firmly committed to expanding it's range from #DSA which is great news for the airport.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
