Does anybody sympathise with the planned strike action on Wednesday? Personally I feel everybody is in the same boat and we are all going to have to suffer. There just isn't enough money in the pot to pay everybody the pensions people have been used to in the past. Basically, why should public sector workers not suffer when everybody else has to.

I don't want to get into a debate about the rights and wrongs of strike action as an industrial relations tool but I feel that in this instance the union leaders have created a monster that will do more harm to the prospects of the country's economic recovery than it will to achieve any of their stated pension aims.

Some union leaders will always have an ideological agenda and never hesitate to use their sometimes naive members as unwitting foot soldiers.

That the public sector pension arrangements were insustainable has been known for many years but successive governments have always put off any change into the too-hard-to-do basket.

The Coalition has been forced into action by world events - it wouldn't have gone along willingly - it's not an overall vote winner.

Good luck to Bradford at Wembley tomorrow. Two years ago (that long already :shok: ) my own team, Birmingham City FC, went to the final as massive underdogs and triumphed against the mighty Arsenal, giving us an amazing season in Europe. If anyone is off down there then enjoy every single moment as these occasions can be once in a lifetime for clubs like ours :good:

No it wasn't just you. Thanks to Paypal the forum host hadn't been paid so our account was suspended. The problem has been sorted now. We're here to stay.

Well we're entering the silly season once again as things start to go quiet on the run up to Christmas and aviation related news drops off until January.

On behalf of Forums4airports I would like to wish all our users a happy Christmas and best wishes for the New Year. All the best!

I would join with you in those sentiments, Aviador.

I'm off to Yorkshire in the morning and won't be back until Wednesday so I'd like to take the opportunity to wish everyone a very happy new year, it's been an absolute pleasure posting on forums4airports and here's to a successful 2014 all round. What's up everyone? Just joined here, anyone wannna chat? :D

Yes it's been quiet today for some reason. Maybe people feel subdued because of the Germanwings accident? :dunno:

How about telling us about your aviation website you're involved in garjen?

Sorry for taking time to reply, well, we are a small Swedish Flight Club, we provide training sessions for those people who dream of maneuvering an aircraft. That's about it really. :)

I have just seen the announcement by Aviador regarding the mugs and pens, can anyone tell me how I can order them and the cost for the items. Also are their any other items available if so where do I go.

Good morning daved1,

Regarding mugs and pens. You say "how can I order them?" Is it just one of each you are wanting or more?

Basically I have order a small number of mugs and pens to simply give away. It is possible for me to get other merchandise if people show an interest but they would need to be chargeable as we don't have the funds available to pay for the larger items.

Other items include but are not limited to:

Mugs
Pens
Key Rings
Mouse Mats
T-Shirts
Hoodies
Caps
Bags

Hi Aviador, it was just one of each I was looking for if possible. By other merchandise, I was thinking maybe about car stickers to advertise the forum. I am more than happy to pay for any items as required.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!
If anyone would like to share their local airport news right here in our news area let me know so I can give you the correct permissions to do so. It only takes a couple of minutes to upload a news story with an accompanying image. The news items can then be shared on the site homepage by you. #TakePart #Forums4airports Bring the news to one place!
survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
