I thought it as ok for a first episode, like other similar programmes they play on the local humour and try to find the “characters”. Those characters are either naturally amusing, or try force it to be the key players in the series. No one struck me as being naturally funny, they were just a bit random and slack...

Airport shots I felt portrayed the airport reasonably well. Regards the delay and excessive drinking, that is any UK airport nowadays. I never get why people want to down pints when they will be queuing for a wazz when they get on the plane

Watched the programme now, not too bad but a bit bland and predictable with the usual late running aircraft, boozy passengers, defective aircraft and airport infrastructure and runway inspections. Still, all in all no worse or better than any other similar programme.

I dont understand why they closed the 1432 lounge, after making a right load of `feetmark`, not to mention cost, about opening it in the first place.

it's not closed. the rope blocking the door is always there but it doesn't mean it is closed.

Yes its definitely open but nobody uses it as it costs more and there’s nothing in there you cant have in the White Rose lounge, I have used it twice and a total waste of money.

People use it and there are usually a few in there every time I go past. Value for money is really one of personal choice tbh. Some people don’t think it is worth it, but clearly there are a few who do.

So before I made judgement on the programme Yorkshire Airport, I decided to allow it to run a couple of episodes as I didn't feel like one was enough to go on.

First of all I must say I am embarrassed to call it my local airport, it doesnt portray the airport in a good light at all. The manager who seen fixing the customer experience scores and saying love you down the radio is hardly professional, same for the guy who moved people's seats by their name and if he liked the name or not. It shows the airport as run by a couple of amateurs. The guys on the ramp was the only part of the second episode which was bearable to watch.

Swissport and the team of LBA have truly let the airport down, made it out to be a clown airport. I can see why jet2 decided not to be involved in the filming and i can hardly blame them.

What's more frustrating for me is I used to work at the airport and it was nothing like this, it's like the normal everyday staff who actually keep the operation running smoothly have been replaced by wannabe celebs whom are more like the class clown.

I've been trailing through Twitter on the Yorkshire Airport hashtag and a lot people are saying it making them think twice before travelling from LBA and will be choosing DSA or MAN to fly from instead.

Now I know some on here might not agree with what I say, and that's fine, were all entitled to our opinions, but I just feel like this has done the airport more harm than good.

Nathan the duty manager is an embarrassment. His attitude and lack of professionalism are cringeworthy. The Swissport ramp operatives were the only positive in my opinion.

I can’t believe Nathan is an ADM, he needs to grow up a bit and start taking the job seriously.

I have really enjoyed seeing the apron shots and generally the aesthetics of the airport look good but I have to say in my time working in senior management if I had a manager who demonstrated Nathan's traits he would have been out on his ear! Walking around saying 'its not my job' is simply not acceptable in a customer facing environment in this day and age and if I caught someone fudging the stats that would have been a disciplinary as a minimum! Not a good impression for him to create with a new management team about to spend £11m!

I haven't seen it yet, but I am sure the new management team will be far from impressed with what they see. Lets hope they are spurred into action with a view to changing the culture among the staff they employ. I suspect that in some cases, they rather wish they didn't employ them!

They might be better employed prevailing on the production company to pull it right now..Damage limitation

The baggage loading team and the young girl on boarding seemed to be the only ones taking their job seriously. As for Nathan swaggering around the terminal appearing to do beggar all, the less he’s seen the better.

In the good old days the airport did used to have a very professional customer service and airport duty manager team and they were paid accordingly too. Nowadays its very different with fewer jobs with more responsibilities and almost certainly paid a lot less money than they used to get paid back then. Basically you get what you pay for.

Looking at the snippet for next week, Nathan appears to be singing Sanita’s song lyrics to her in the hope she sings them back to him. clearly they are going for the banter aspect, but he does come across as a proper plank and this stunt will no doubt end up on its ar$e

The company behind "Yorkshire Airport" is Southern based apparently. There is every likelihood they wanted to portray the airport not as being in a modern dynamic city, but as being part of the Yorkshire Dales and Ilkley Moor Ba Tat.

As for Nathan, he seems a nice genuine guy. his role as a Terminal Duty Manager mainly consists of customer service and I am sure he is perfectly able to do that despite being portrayed as clumsy and irresponsible.

I watched it last night hoping for some improvement, so I was of course disappointed...as for Nathan, hopefully once he grows up, he might be if some use..won't be watching it again

If the purpose was to show LBA as a serious airport looking to expand and grow the program failed miserably. Looking back surely management must regret their decision to agree to do it - and Jet2 look very wise in staying out of it. Nathan has come across badly on a personal level and as a representative of the airport. His interactions with Sinitta on episode 3 were cringe-worthy.

The LBA 'management' who approved the programme has gone. Go figure.

I watched part two yesterday. In total, I probably saw no more than five minutes of the programme. I kept pressing fast forward, it was that cringeworthy. What a wasted opportunity. Jet2 has definitely dodged a bullet.

Not seen it yet, so I might not bother. Perhaps what they need is a big advert in the background in the departure lounge on the lines of:

Join Yorkshire Airlines for a fantastic Santa Special. Alan Bennett Class passengers will benefit from special, chips and festive cheesy peas with added brandy butter, washed down with a bottle of Ilkley Brewery Mary Jane. Working Class will get a few slices of mucky fat and a bottle of shandy.

Fancy dress will be provided comprising of Compo’s bobble hat, Nora Batty hair rollers and Wesley’s greasy overalls.

There will be a raffle with prizes such as flat caps, whippets, steak and chips, overcoats, boots, new suits, a pair of Leeds Rhinos 2020 Championship season tickets, Nicola Adams boxing gloves, a brewery tour of Sam Smiths at Taddy, a tour of Wesley’s garage, 3 teas in Ivy’s Café, Kaiser Chiefs CD’s, tickets to see George Formby at ‘t Palace Theatre, a bunch of bananas, half a stone of monkey nuts, and you will still have change from a farthing!!

It’ll be reet grand!!

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
