Great to see them increasing flights in light of this situation. I loved Shaheen's livery and it will be sad to see such a diverse carrier go but PIA have a large presence in Manchester (even more so by increasing these flights) and I am pleased that they will be mopping up the lost capacity and balancing out the losses.

PIA will continue it's KHI-LHE-MAN-JFK flight beyond June, instead of switching to Liepzig.

Schedule remains constant:
PK721 LHE 0640 MAN 1040 77L 2
PK721 MAN 1245 JFK 1455 77L 2

PK711 KHI 0245 LHE 0430 77L 6
PK711 LHE 0640 MAN 1040 77L 6
PK711 MAN 1245 JFK 1455 77L 6

So, quite a big presence from PIA is continuing, with 11 777s in weekly and a mix of -200, -300ER and -200LR (y)

PIA Review
Here is a great review of a sparsely reviewed airline on the Manchester route. By the looks of it, it is greatly exceeding my expectations. If the IFE had worked, it looked an extremely pleasant flight. I know PIA are in turmoil at the moment with their CEO but they are extremely loyal to Manchester, brining in 11-weekly 777s this summer so they really should be celebrated. Please watch the trip report - very high quality and very interesting:

Whilst it was clear it wasn't going to happen, and was a flawed idea anyway, PIA have now officially shelved plans to serve New York via Leipzig, instead opting to remain at Manchester.

Clear it was going to happen once the corrupt CEO from Germany got the boot.

From 1st July - courtesy of airlineroutes

Islamabad – Manchester 4 weekly 777-200ER/-200LR/-300ER

Lahore – Manchester 1 weekly 777-300ER

The airport's aren't half having it tough Covid, airlines reducing flights and now airlines getting banned to top it off.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
