Late to the party, as Scottie said the new bussing lounge is off the Pier 2 stub. The legacy temporary bussing lounge is accessed from temporary stairs next to the interior construction wall and is accessible even if access to T2X is not.

Thanks for the additional confirmation @marni1971 i think I remember the bussing lounge area now. I boarded an aircraft from gate 216/217 I think it was about 18 months ago and we had to go downstairs and I think remember seeing the bussing lounge progressing in the early stages then.

Looking forward to the eventual opening of T2X...

That I don't know. If anything in use is parked remote then yes, since the original bussing lounge is long demolished (RIP). I’ve no idea if demand warrants remote parking at the moment

1.0 SUMMARY
A programme of up to eight weeks work to remove redundant aircraft fuel hydrant system infrastructure
from the site of the new Taxiway Echo (former B1D substation area). Work will take place with a
combination of day and night‐time working. Within the overall programme there will be eight occasions
when aircraft hydrant fuel will not be available to Terminals 1 and 3 between the hours of 20:00 and
05:00L.
2.0 PROGRAMME
2.1 The overall programme of work will commence on Monday 3rd August 2020.
2.2 The work is scheduled to be completed by Wednesday 26th September 2020.
2.3 The majority of work will take place during daylight hours, Monday to Friday.
2.4 Within the overall programme there will be eight occasions when night‐time working will be required.
3.0 SCOPE & LOCATION OF WORKS
3.1 The majority of work will take place within a fenced work area located inside the existing MAN‐TP PP04
work compound on Taxiway Echo.
3.1.1 There will be occasions when night‐time work is carried out at fuel hydrant valve chambers located on
Stands 10 and 61.

3.2 The overall scope of work will involve the following tasks:
 Work force mobilisation and erection of fenced work area.
 On‐site radiography.
 2 x excavations to remove redundant aircraft fuel hydrant system infrastructure and replace

 8 x night‐time fuel hydrant system shutdowns affecting Terminals 1 and 3 (20:00 – 05:00L).
 Reinstatement of excavated ground.
 Demobilisation and removal of fenced work area.

4.0 OPERATIONAL IMPLICATIONS
4.1 Aircraft Fuel Hydrant System
4.1.1 During the overall programme of work, a total of eight, night‐time aircraft fuel hydrant system shutdowns
will be required. The shutdowns will affect Terminals 1 and 3 only.
4.1.2 The aircraft fuel hydrant system shutdowns will be carried out between the hours of 20:00 and 05:00L
on the following dates;
 5th & 6th August.
 17th ‐20th August.
 24th & 25th August (with 26th August held as contingency).
4.1.3 All aircraft fuel hydrant system shutdowns will be promulgated via NOTAM.
N.B: The actual dates of the hydrant system shutdowns may vary slightly in the event of any delays being
encountered during excavation work.
4.2 Stand Restrictions
4.2.1 There will be two occasions within the overall programme of work when access will be required to fuel
hydrant valve chambers located on Stands 10 and 61.
4.2.2 When access is required to Stand 10, the stand is to be temporarily closed and vacant.
4.2.3 When access is required to Stand 61, any night‐stopping aircraft must be in position prior to work
commencing.
4.2.4 Access will be required to Stands 10 and 61 on the nights of;
 5th & 6th August.
 24th & 25th August.
4.3 Ground Service Equipment Parking
4.3.1 On the occasions when night‐time works access is required to Stand 10 it will be necessary to temporarily
displace any ground service equipment/ vehicles parked in Equipment Bay 10A.
4.3.2 Any displaced equipment may be temporarily parked on the closed Stand 10.
4.3.3 Airfield Operations will notify the affected user in advance.
5.0 LOW VISIBILITY PROCEDURES (LVP)
5.1 The work has no impact on the airport’s ability to operate during periods of low visibility.
6.0 FURTHER INFORMATION
6.1 A NOTAM(s) promulgating the schedule of aircraft fuel hydrant system shutdowns will be promulgated
prior to the start of work.

along the western edge of Taxiway Zulu.
2.0 PROGRAMME
2.1 The overall programme of work will commence on Thursday 23rd July and is scheduled to be completed
by Friday 21st August 2020.
2.2 The work will take place Monday to Friday, the majority of which will be undertaken during daylight
hours, nominally 07:00 – 17:00L.
2.3 Some minor elements of work will be undertaken at night (two nights’ work) with nominal working hours
of 22:00 – 06:00L.
3.0 SCOPE & LOCATION OF WORKS
3.1 All work will be located on Taxiway Zulu in the immediate vicinity of the temporary CP fence opposite
Pier 1.
The overall scope of work will entail the following tasks;
 Removal of temporary CP fence, concrete barriers and melba logs (circa 50m per day).
 Transport of concrete blocks for storage at a designated airside area.
 Filling and over‐coring of pavement bolt holes.
 Pavement joint sealing along the previous location of the temporary CP fence.

4.0 OPERATIONAL IMPLICATIONS
4.1 No specific operational implications are anticipated as a result of this work.
4.2 The works scope and methodology are such that the contractor will be able to temporarily vacate
Taxiway Zulu in the event of an aircraft movement past the area of work in progress.
5.0 LOW VISIBILITY PROCEDURES
5.1 In the event of forecast low visibility, the planned work on Taxiway Zulu will be cancelled.
6.0 IMMINENT AIRFIELD CHANGES
6.1 The work described in this OAN is enabling work prior to the imminent opening of new airfield
infrastructure, namely, new remote stands and a dual centreline system on Taxiway Zulu.
6.2 Specific operational information regarding the introduction of the new infrastructure into service will be
promulgated via a separate OAN.

OAN 075/2020 – INTRODUCTION OF NEW REMOTE STANDS & DUAL CENTRELINE SYSTEM ON TAXIWAY ZULU.

1.0 SUMMARY
1.1 On Friday 21st August new airfield infrastructure will be brought into operation, namely, a colour-coded
dual taxi-lane system on Taxiway Zulu, 10 x new remote stands, a new Intermediate Holding Point (IHP)
designated Z2 and five Tug Release Points. Prior to 21st August there will be a period of Operational
Readiness & Acceptance Testing (ORAT) which will include aircraft parking, turnaround and pushback
trials.
2.0 PROGRAMME
2.1 Following the ORAT period, the new infrastructure will be introduced into service at 00:01L on Friday 21st
August 2020.
2.2 The overall ORAT period is expected to commence on Thursday 6th August 2020.
3.0 TAXIWAY ZULU COLOUR-CODED DUAL TAXI-LANE SYSTEM
3.1 From Friday 21st August, Taxiway Zulu will operate with dual colour-coded taxi-lane centrelines
designated Zulu Orange and Zulu Blue.
3.2 Taxiway Zulu will split into the dual taxi-lanes abeam Stand 113.
3.3 The dual taxi-lane system will be capable of accommodating simultaneous operations of aircraft up to a
maximum size of ICAO Code C (36m wingspan – A321/B737).
3.4 Taxi-lane Zulu Orange will be available H24 in all weather conditions and will consist of a painted orange
centreline. Green taxiway centreline lighting will be available during hours of darkness and/or periods of
low visibility.
3.5 For an interim period, Taxi-lane Zulu Blue will be in use during daylight hours only and will consist of an
unlit painted blue centreline.
3.5.1 During hours of darkness and/or periods low visibility, all aircraft will operate on Taxi-lane Zulu Orange.
3.6 The overall use of the dual taxi-lane system will be as directed by ATC.
The attached drawing depicts the new dual taxi-lane arrangement.
4.0 INTERMEDIATE HOLDING POINTS
4.1 A new Intermediate Holding Point will be brought into service, designated IHP Z2.
4.2 IHP Z2 will be an unlit holding point located abeam Stand 113 and the new Stand 913, with Intermediate
Holding Point markings present on both Taxi-lanes Zulu Orange and Zulu Blue.
4.3 IHP Z1 will remain in its current location and continue to be an unlit holding point.
5.0 NEW AIRCRAFT STANDS
5.1 A total of 10 x new remote stands will be introduced, numbered as follows;
• 901, 903, 905, 907, 909, 911, 913, 915, 917 & 919.
5.2 All the above stands will be capable of accommodating aircraft up to a maximum size of ICAO Code C
(36m wingspan – A321/B737).
5.3 All new stands will be equipped with the aircraft fuel hydrants and apron mounted, single output Fixed
Electrical Ground Power units (90KVA).
5.4 Aircraft docking on all new stands will be via Safedock AVDGS.
5.5 Some items of snagging work will mean that the opening of Stands 901, 913 and 915 may be delayed by
circa two weeks.
6.0 AIRCRAFT PUSHBACK PROCEDURES
6.1 A new revision (Revision B) of the Manchester Airport Aircraft Pushback Procedures document has been
published.
6.2 The new revision contains aircraft pushback procedures for all new remote stands and procedure
amendments for Stands 101, 103, 105, 107, 109, 111 and 113. The new/ revised procedures will be used
during the ORAT period prior to the new infrastructure being fully introduced into service.
6.3 Pushback crews should note the introduction of 5 x new Tug Release Points (TRP) on Taxiway Zulu,
designated as follows;
• TRP 105, TRP 905, TRP 111, TRP 911 and TRP Z.
6.4 New pushback procedures for Stands 101 and 901 will require pushback crews to observe an aircraft
pushback nose wheel limit marker.
7.0 AERONAUTICAL INFORMATION PACKAGE (AIP)
7.1 The availability of the new dual taxi-lane system and new stands has been promulgated within the UK
AIP.
8.0 MAG AIRFIELD MAPS
8.1 New airfield Manoeuvring Area and Apron Road System maps will be made available online during week
commencing 3rd August via the following link:

Whilst I agree that some of the numbers - at present - don't appear to make much sense one has to remember that this is all work in progress and things will I'm sure change. For example stands 807-811 are where Pier 2 will ultimately go - they will, I think then be renumbered into the 200 range, but those numbers are already in use. In the same way Taxiways November Alpha and Zulu will also change, but their final designation is already in use elsewhere on the airfield.

I've got a couple more OANs to post and then that will be it for a little while - unless the airport starts to place them on the web.

1.1 A programme of up to sixteen days of work to replace a failed concrete pavement bay on Taxiway Bravo
at Intermediate Holding Point (IHP) B3. Whilst work is in progress there will be H24 closure of a portion
of Taxiway Bravo.
2.0 PROGRAMME
2.1 The overall programme of work will commence on the night of Sunday 16th August 2020.
2.2 The work will be completed by the morning of Monday 31st August 2020.
2.3 Work will take place on both nights and days. The night shifts will run Sunday to Thursday with working
hours of 20:00 – 06:00L. The Day shifts will run Monday to Friday with working hours of 07:30 – 18:00L.
2.4 The pavement bay replacement work on Taxiway Bravo will consist of four days of construction work,
followed by a period of up to 12 days to allow for concrete curing.
3.0 SCOPE & LOCATION OF WORKS
3.1 The overall scope and location of work will be as follows;

• Replacement of 1 x concrete pavement bay on Taxiway Bravo, between at IHP B3.
• Installation of new Aeronautical Ground Lights (AGLs) at IHP B3.

4.0 OPERATIONAL IMPLICATIONS
4.1 Taxiway Closures
4.1.1 The following taxiway closure will be in effect H24 from 20:00L on Sunday 16th August until 06:00L on the
morning of Monday 31st August 2020:

• Taxiway Bravo from its junction with Taxiways Delta and Kilo to IHP B3.

4.2 Northside Taxiways - Aircraft Manoeuvring Restrictions
4.2.1 For the duration of the works, aircraft will be routed around the works area using a combination of
Taxiway Delta (via IHP D1), Taxiway Kilo (via IHPs K4 and K5) or Taxiway Charlie (via IHP C2) as required.
4.2.2 Flight crews should be aware that the turn between IHPs C2 and P3 has an unlit painted taxiway
centreline and blue taxiway edge lighting.
4.2.3 Furthermore, the turn between IHPs C2 and P3 is restricted in terms of permitted aircraft size, as follows:

• C2 to P3 (right turn) – Maximum A330-300.
• P3 to C2 (left turn) – Maximum B757-300.

5.0 LOW VISIBILITY PROCEDURES (LVP)
5.1 Overall, the work has no impact on the airport’s ability to operate during periods of low visibility.

1.0 SUMMARY
1.1 A one-day programme of works to upgrade the AGL control software to allow the future activation of
taxiway centreline lighting on Taxiways November-Alpha and Zulu. The work will take place during
daylight hours and will require specific visibility and cloud ceiling criteria to be met prior to start of works.
2.0 PROGRAMME
2.1 Works are scheduled to take place on Wednesday 2nd September 2020. Thursday 3rd will serve as a
contingency day should completion of the work suffer a delay.
2.2 In the unlikely event of an AGL control software failure, Friday 4th September will serve as further
contingency to enable reversion back to the existing software.
2.3 Daily working times will be 08:30 – 16:30L.
3.0 SCOPE & LOCATION
3.1 Upgrading, commissioning, and testing of AGL control software to allow the future activation of taxiway
centreline lighting on Taxiways November-Alpha and Zulu.
3.2 Work will take place in WA6a Substation situated at the head of Stand 929 and within the Air Traffic
Visual Control Room (VCR).
4.0 OPERATIONAL IMPLICATIONS (08:30 – 16:30L)
4.1 Runway Operations
4.1.1 Runway operations will be unaffected by the software upgrade works.
4.1.2 All required approach and runway lighting will remain lit and fully serviceable during the daily working
period. However, the runway services will be hand switched by MAG Asset engineering, as agreed with
ATC, on the day.
4.1.3 Single runway operations on runway 05L/23R are in place, due to the outbreak of COVID-19 and a
consequential reduction in the demand for air travel. OAN 040i -2020 refers. If there is any change to
runway operations, then it must be borne in mind that single runway operations on Runway 05L23R is
required for the duration of the works.
4.2 Runway Entrance/ Exit Links & Crossing Points
4.2.1 Centreline lighting leading to/through runway entrance/exit links and runway crossing points will remain
unlit during the daily working period.
4.3 Stop-bars
4.3.1 All Runway Holding Position (RHP) stop-bars and their associated Runway Guard Lights (Wig-Wags) will
remain lit and fully serviceable during the daily works period.
4.3.2 Northside taxiway Intermediate Holding Positions (IHP) stop-bars will remain unlit during daily works
period.
4.4 Taxiway Centreline AGL
4.4.1 Northside taxiway centreline AGL will remain unlit during the daily works period.
4.5 Re-instatement of Full AGL Control
4.5.1 When the contractor is ready to re-instate full AGL system control to ATC, there will be a period of
approximately five minutes during which aircraft ground movements will not be permitted whilst the re-
instatement process takes place. This will be coordinated tactically with ATC to best avoid any
operational disruption.
5.0 WEATHER MINIMA
5.1 Work will be postponed if the weather is forecasted to deteriorate below the following minima: Visibility
1500m and/or 1000ft cloud ceiling.
5.2 Should there be a forecast >30% probability of fog the works will be postponed.

As people may be aware the airport website has not been regularly updated with airfield operational data since the start of Covid-19. I have been fortunate to have established a new contact for OANs and these will be updated when and as they become available. NOTAMs will be checked and updated as they become available.

@Scottie Dog thanks as always for the updates, I certainly appreciate them.
If I remember rightly in the past, there was usually a NOTAM for 5 night of maintenance on 23R/05L, but of course this was due to the high level of traffic on the primary runway. Be interesting to see if something similar happens this October, especially given the NOTAM for 23L/05R was removed quite soon after it was released...I was expecting MAN/MAG to ensure runway 2 was ready at short notice, but no doubt we will find out in time...
