The building that was located on stand 4 has been demolished and work continues inside the terminal that is still in the ripping out stage. Nothing is visible unless you are in the construction areas.

The new stands should be open in a few months.

They still haven't built the mini duty free area in the new extension.

The remaining old section of walkway that links the new walkway from the extension is not really temporary as referred to above.
There are plans now to build a proper pier but it was never destined to be fully removed as they need it to segregate inbound and outbound flights.
The section opposite stand 8 will be removed at some point as that is no longer required.

The plans show walkway access from as far as the old immigration all the way to the new arrivals which makes sense as it means passengers can walk in from both sides of the building to the new domestic and international arrivals. As the walkway will be twinned this will also allow the use by departing passengers.

The temporary corridor that runs inside (leading into the new extension) will be reconfigured and take inbound passengers into a stairwell and lifts. This will join up with the old corridors that run the outside of the old building as you have detailed in those plans.

I was under the impression SierraHotel was referring to the glass and metal walkway outside having used the term walkway.

I was referring to the temporary corridor, EX9. Thanks for the update information.
The schematics Aviator has posted show only 4 baggage reclaim belts. I was under the impression that the plan was to be for a total of 5?

I count 5 on the floor plans.

There is a belt to the left.
There is actually six with one of the belts going slightly off the image. This one will be for domestic arrivals.

On the floor plans I posted, the one showing the old terminal is of the first floor walkway. The plans show this being extended up to the point where the new terminal building starts. At that point there's a stairwell where passengers can reach the ground floor. The second image is of the ground floor where the west side walkway joins the east side as it reaches the immigration hall.

I need to check the original plans before I added the red highlighted areas to see if the new section of the walkway on the first floor is to be a single or duel walkway. I was under the impression it was to be duelled walkway allowing arriving and departing passengers but I'll report back when I've double checked.

Yes it's as I thought, it shows two channels to allow arrival and departure passengers.

This image is of the original without my highlight showing the walkway where you can make out two channels.

Trying to get my head around the flow, if people were arriving on the gate to the left, but departing on the one central to the plan, how would they navigate past?
Basically the same as they do now. If there's a confliction ground staff hold passengers until the passengers from the other flight have passed.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
