Does anyone know what the space in the last photo will contain? It's partitioned off from the rest of the departures level but the plans i have are too low res to make put the annotations.
As its glazed on 2 sides, it must be the Eastern end of the building, which is the location for both of the new lounges. So I suspect what the photo shows is the area they occupy, minus the dividing partition between them.

Correct. That's what they said in December.
Where are the 2 new stands to be located and when aircraft are parked on the stands what direction will they face?
The airside frontage of the terminal extension looks great, the use of 2 different colours of grey with the dark grey representing each gate, together with the long length window gives a clean modern look but without been dull. Also great for plane spotters and the public! would be even better though minus that bloody bus shelter which clearly ruins the overall impression atm!

Bottom of the taxiway from apron up to the runway (Delta?). No idea which way the aircraft will be pointing though.

So im guessing one or more of the grassed areas is to be removed? I guess eventually all the grassed areas could be removed between the apron and the old shorter runway, some aircraft could park in that area facing outwards towards the main runway but obviously only to a certain point to avoid ils issues, this area would be a little closer to the terminal as well rather than parking all the way down at the far eastern end

Yes, that's my understanding. Pretty sure all the additional stands are on areas that are currently grass between the apron and taxiway (old runway 28) or alongside taxiway delta.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
