Now Phase 2 is underway, am I right in assuming the priority is to create the new CSZ area in between check in hall A and B so as to allow the current CSZ to be vacated and transformed into a new arrivals waiting area?
The CSZ is moving into what was the international baggage reclaim area, with the entry point mid way between check in halls A and B. Whether it's a priority or not, I wouldn't know. I would think not. Given it involves relocating the scanning equipment which will impact passengers, I would think it will be done during the winter, but I have not seen the project plan so just guessing. Given the price of scanners and that they've only just been installed, I can't imagine them buying new again.

My understanding was that the space vacated by the current CSZ would enable a further extension to Check in Hall A.

The only boarded-up areas of the terminal atm are are around the old baggage reclaim (new CSZ) as far as I'm aware. As of 2 weeks ago they had gutted the ceiling, probably more now.

It may be buried deep in this thread somewhere. But what new shops, restaurants and bars is there in the refurb? And are the old ones still there?
The new area only houses a bar eatery and a Burger King which allows the airport to close the old food village. New retail units are planned for the old part of the terminal once completed but the airport has yet to announce what brands we will see. There has been rumours about Boots leaving the airport but this is unconfirmed.

Went through airport on 18/7 1415 the queue for security was to the main door near jet2 part of terminal!
Once in and found way to new part all good. Apart from some signage misleading to toilets! Should have taken a picture!
By the way my phone worked on E E as did Mrs on O 2
See previous comment.
On way back aircraft was parked in horsforth so had to bus it.
Aircraft had a p u issue as no air con on ground in tenerife and were told not to get up as issue with lights on parking on stand until advised.
When getting off noticed engineer trying to sort issue which he must have as aircraft did as aircraft in service next day doing a W leg to girona.
Got into the large sports hall of passport control all OK and quick.
Then someone's pram jammed the belts so that added to the delay!
Landed Sunday 0332 in bed for 0455 after getting taxi cases in house and etc etc. So all good

Hopefully we will get a JD sports!

I believe the priority is creating the new CSZ in the old arrivals area (to then create a new arrivals area and overall improve that process over the current ramp used).

As @White Heather as alluded to you do not want to do this with maximum disruption you want it done in minimal time / minimal disruption. One would imagine this will be done in winter.

Also they need to re configure the whole departures area which, I would think, is been done currently alongside a new security area. This probably will feed into a revamped duty free.

Not only that, but also attended by Leeds City Council (the very same that includes some within planning who are trying their best to block LBAs growth through a refusal to deal properly with the CLEUDs) and Bradford Council, who just sit there doing nothing positive relative to LBA.

I guess the airport couldn't find many that were worthy to cut the ribbon but these seem like a case of keeping your enemies close. At least they who shall not be named weren't there! Unless of course they were in disguise as a councillor?

Building that

Building that will create a bit of a racket!
I was tempted to comment but I guess it won’t serve any purpose.

Met a mate for a pint yesterday and he was telling me about his experience in The Avro Lounge. I don’t use the lounges myself being a pleb, but he always uses them and he travels a lot.
To say he was scathing about it would be an understatement. I must have looked incredulous because he told me to check Tripadvisor and see what others had to say. I’ve just done that and, well, dearie dearie me. How could they have got it so very wrong?
Out of 71 reviews, 68 have rated the lounge experience as terrible with a score of 1 out of 5.
Is this a temporary lounge or something?(not that that would excuse it)
Check it out yourself,

Please can these very random tennis related comments be moved to the random thread. This allegedly is the regeneration thread.
I appreciate we all have different senses of humour, but for me personally it is about as funny as a 1970 sitcom on repeat. If it was in the random thread at least it would fit the thread title.

Appreciate this may make me unpopular for raising it 🥺

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
