Demolition of the old shed housing the old Belt 3, AOU and Swissport offices has begun today. Excavators have left the new stands area but they don't look ready for pouring yet. The small duty free outlet in the extension is being installed after its initial period of dormancy
Does this essentially mean we will have three news stands now this space is available?

Arrive yesterday evening on LS212 from Jersey, the baggage reclaim area is so much better than the dingy dungeon in the old terminal and will be a boom next summer when we have hopefully lots of flights.View attachment 32857
Any signs of belt 4 and 5 yet?

Am I correct in thinking the remains of the infamous "bus shelter" (stand 12 to 14) are to be removed?
It won’t be removed in the near future. It will be replaced by the 2 possibly 3 storey pier which will be built onto the end of the new extension and extend down to the stand 16 area. This is still in the planning stage and survey work for it will be taking place in mid November. I think the timescale for this is in the next 2/3 years, but that could obviously change.

The old section of walkway (bus shelter) at the head of stage 8 will be removed this winter.

In a few weeks there will be a new route into the terminal extension, along with closing parts of the Saltaire bar and Starbucks being takeaway only until spring. The new route will be through the gate three area.

Boots have ramped up their food prices.

The remaining section of walkway at Stand 8 is quickly being taken down today. Should be finished by tomorrow.

New stands are painted and floodlights installed.

Survey work is underway on the grass area heading up Delta. Must be for future stands.
Splendid news. Would you be kind enough to post some photographs at your convenience, provided you have an opportunity? Thankyou.

They wouldn't be looking to spend serious money building stands if they didn't think they were going to get used…

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
