What a load of old rubbish!!!
The web site, not the idea of the thread.
They appear to have just about given up on it. Even the recently reported speech by the airport MD in which he refers to airport growth doesn't get a mention in the news section, and press releases are about as rare as Jumbo Jets at LBA. I think they must have closed down the department that does the web site to be honest.

In my former employment I was a retail manager so I am very familiar with the customer service aspects of any business. We were always taught that our website page was our shop window. It's a real shame that nobody up at LBA seems to realise this.

White Heather you beat me to it, i made the thread then had to dash off quickly. But...
The point i was going to make along with the poorly updated live arrivals and departures was the "News" section, the last news story or press release was 17th October - thats nearly a month ago! I find the news sections interesting and is usually a good source of keeping up to date with the latest going ons. LBA's is apauling. They could for example, feature a news story about the upcoming TCX A330 flights starting to BGI, did they feature MON A330's for those troop flights...no! Thats 2 news stories about one type of aircraft! I could go on...
Glad of the approval however for the thread (even if it is one of the more demoralising threads on here)

I would never take any notice of the airports website timetable. The Live arrivals and Departure are ok and do what they need to do. Let customers know flight info and so on. But it has previously been mentioned by White Heather and others that the airport operating comapny plan to revamp it soon and give it a new fresh look. Well one hopes so, hopefully.
Anyway It is a well known fact that that PDF thing dose not get updated as often as it should do. Take a look at the http://www.lbaspotter.net website for more info on LBA Daily Movements Logs, Up todate winter charter and full flight timetables along with a host of other features you may find intresting..

One of the things I find annoying about it is that it's made in such a narrow format so in effect half my screen looks blank.
The website does have some things that I like such as the arrivals and departure information. I like the idea of having the airline logos incorporated on it although this has now been removed from the FIDS which is a shame. I'd like to see more airline advertisements on the home page using those black spaces at the side of the page. I would also like to see more of what's going on behind the scenes with regards to the airport development and route developments etc. Some food outlets have offers on their websites, so what about having offers on the LBA website such as money off coupons for parking, airport shopping etc.
There is so much that could be exploited but at the moment the LBA website doesn't do much for me.

I agree with Aviadors statement above, it would be intresting to know how many people visit the lba website a day? Website could do with been updated more regulary, seems to be keep Jo public in the dark about what the airports intentions are.

Only recently noticed, on the website, i personally havent noticed it before anyway a new addition under the "Airport Company" tab, the dropdown menu shows a new link to "Filming and Photography". Has that been there for a long time or is it new? Also the "Airport Byelaws" tab seem to be updated too.

I noticed the thing about photography as well. It is not stated in the airport bylaws and although the airport authority don't like people taking pictures you wouldn't be committing an offence by taking one. I asked a Police officer about this very thing and he said that they would only be interested in the matter if the photos were being taken in a sensitive area or if the people in question looked suspicious. From the airport company prospective, it is a money making initiative as airports become more and more commercially minded.

I have just checked the Jet2 website month by month and there are definitely no flights at all throughout the summer months. So I'm afraid to say it's yet another error.

But they do show that Ryanair are not flying to Pisa in the summer - when they are. Shall we have a competition to see how many errors we can find??

I have no idea who compiles the information but they really need a typist that says in their job application "interested in aviation" ,perfecto! :smile: It must be said that so many editions of timetables are released it must be a nightmare for the person responsible for looking after them. On the otherhand I haven't looked at other airport websites to see how good they are at compiling the information.

Well the LBA website is not working at all now. Cant open the site nor the live arrivals and deaprture pages. Tried both domains http://www.leedsbradfordairport.co.uk and http://www.lbia.co.uk and it just comes up with "Server cannot be found".
Are they doing a big update with the site or maybe something new tonight?

Well i've refreshed my browser and cleaned out me cookies, I've even done a anti spyware check made sure that my anti virus is clean with AVG and the airport website still doesn't work.

Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
