Re: re: www.leedsbradfordairport.co.uk

on arrivals and departures have you seen the new airsouth west logo? i think that looks nice

Re: leedsbradfordairport.co.uk

Some welcomed improvements have been made to the LBA website which include a new route map and enlarged spaces on the homepage for advertisements. I notice that the airport is now calling itself Leeds Bradford International Airport - 'Yorkshire'

Here's the route map....

Re: re: leedsbradfordairport.co.uk

Whoops!! Spoke too soon the link is broken today. It's just showing HTTP ERROR 500.

Re: re: leedsbradfordairport.co.uk

I couldn't get it on Friday morning either, then I did get it briefly on Friday evening, so I guess it is par for the course as far as the web site is concerned. Not very good!!

Mind you, I looked at the Liverpool web site last night and their arrivals board doesn't even update itself and has to be refreshed. It was still showing lunchtime flights and their due arrival times when I looked at it at 11.00 last night!

Re: re: leedsbradfordairport.co.uk

Heather, are you using Internet Explorer?
This is now at the end of it's design life and it does not display websites correctly.
For example, the route map on explorer is about as big as a postage stamp, on firefox it fills the page.
I have to advise my customers not to use it as it it does not display all my company products and details.
The banks have also sent a bulletin out warning customers not to use it.

Re: re: leedsbradfordairport.co.uk

When I first looked at it, it was on Internet Explorer and it worked fine for me and as far as I am concerned Firefox has it's own issues as well. I don't think it's much better than Internet Explorer. As for the new link - it's probably been overloaded by hits because it's new.

You are currently using Internet Explorer 6.
Unfortunately this browser is unable to accommodate the full functionality of our site. We apologise for any inconvenience.
We would advise that you upgrade to one of the following:
Internet Explorer 7 or 8

As an aside to all this, the EU has issued a directive suggesting people should stop using explorer as it is no longer secure.

Re: re: leedsbradfordairport.co.uk

When I started on the Internet around ten years ago Netscape was an alternative to Internet Explorer, possibly the only significant alternative then. I believe it's still around but I don't know how popular it is or how efficient.

I use Internet Explorer 8 but am always reluctant to switch to the next version straight away because there always seem to be glitches when it is first wheeled out. It seems that some of the glitches and difficulties are never sorted out.

I looked at the LBA route map the other day and it presented properly on my screen.

Re: re: leedsbradfordairport.co.uk

The EU directive was from the French and German governments telling people to upgrade from Internet Explorer 6 due to vulnerability in IE6 which has been blamed on hack attacks.

Re: re: leedsbradfordairport.co.uk

Cheer up everyone, we have a Thomas Cook 767 coming in the Summer :drinks:

Re: re: leedsbradfordairport.co.uk

TCX 767??? Is this doing a W pattern from another airport? I take it we are still getting the A320 for the summer.

Re: re: leedsbradfordairport.co.uk

Cant find the post but TX are using a 767 next year on the Dalaman and a 757 on the Antalya.

Re: re: leedsbradfordairport.co.uk

Final word on the subject of explorer.
The German government advised to stop using it because Microsoft had failed to provide a patch.
No version displays correctly on our business websites, end of story.
The IT guys will not use it and have not done so for a while.
The arrival/departure info on the LBA website does not expand on most users explorer for one small example.
On firefox you get the full page plus + zoom.

Re: re: leedsbradfordairport.co.uk

I have just been trying to find out information regarding 767 ops next summer and I can only find that a 767 is operating into HUY on Mondays from Dalaman and Antalya with a 757 but not LBA.

Re: re: leedsbradfordairport.co.uk

If it is a 767 operating on the DLM route on either the Monday or Friday flights then it can't be operating on a W pattern as the timings on the Thomas Cook website are showing as a based aircraft at LBA. TCX cannot be changing from an A320 to a 767 at LBA.

Mods, can the last few posts on this thread be moved to the Summer Charters thread at LBA? Thanks.

Runway 32 is correct you have been reading the Humberside Forum!

As for the LBIA website, the link to the new route map is still broken.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
