Note the airport have at last dropped the much dated word "international" from the corporate branding.

I was never bothered by the use of the word "international". I have always found it bizarre that people don't consider European flights as "international", they're hardly domestic flights. Anyway, the word has gone now.

My first impressions regarding the new website is it looks very good on the whole. I feel very slightly disappointed at the lack of a prominent interactive route map which I feel is the easiest way for customers to view the airports destinations with one click. The current system takes four clicks to find out which airlines fly to Alicante, five if you include the initial click from the search engine! Research would suggest many people will get tired of looking by the second or third click.

Again on a positive note, I'm liking the yellow on black arrival and departure information which is a universally accepted colour scheme used at many airports throughout the world. Similarly, the new black on yellow gate numbers on the amended airport terminal map is much clearer and again, widely used at many airports. To ensure continuity, can anybody confirm if the new look signs are being introduced throughout the terminal and in the car parks to improve the customer experience?

LBA appear to have included various destinations on the website that are, in fact, no longer destinations from LBA - or which are one off charters with no flight information given.

For example, Copenhagen is still shown - despite the fact it is no longer an option from LBA. A quick scan through also showed that Kos is missing from the Greek map, even though both Jet2 and Ryanair are operating there and it is listed as a destination.

Overall, it looks good, but disapointing to find it has errors from the launch and suggests we have destinations that in fact, we don't.

Just a little complaint about the website;

LBA need to get Thomson's logo on the arrivals and departure boards!!

Also would be good Balkan in summer to finally have their logo on the website and any other visitors!

Would it not be reasonable to expect that our new arrival departure board would by now have the defunct Flybe flights removed each day rather than having to put canceled on each movement. The Thomson Logo was still unavailable as well so has this been fixed ? I also noticed when we had some diversions a little while ago that none of them appeared on the board. It would seem it is a bit less than fit purpose.

a300boy I agree with you, a bit disappointing and since the 'new' website came into use I seldom look it up now.

I have to say I am not impressed with the new airport website. I actually think the old version was better apart from the apparent lack of ability to keep it up to date.

The new airport website is difficult to navigate requiring too many clicks to reach where you want to see. A website also doubles up as a company "shop window" and the airport website does this well but it is also meant to be a feast of flight and holiday information, who, what, when and where to. You have to dig deep to find the information you want on the LBA airport website.

A quick Google search for "airport website template" and there are some far better designed websites.

This version is for an airline but still it gives an example of a good air transport website.

It is still not working. In addition, I have written to the airport to query the absence of the Thomson logo (still!), the use of the old Britannia Airways flight codes (BY) instead of TOM and the continuing presence of the Flybe flights on the boards despite the fact they were axed a month ago. It looks very confusing when we have BE7001 from Southampton showed as cancelled and BE171 from Southampton, arriving at the same time, showing as landed. It is high time all the flights that no longer operate were removed.

I also queried why, when LBA accepts inbound diverts, none of the additional flights are shown. They used to be on the old website and are are the majority of other websites.

I have had a response today to advise the query has been submitted to their tech team and I will let you know what response I get. Not much today I suspect - they are probably busy trying to get their website to work!

It just looks a bit Micky Mouse ! thanks for pointing it out to them you would think they see it for themselves.

Oh, I see it's blank. Well, at least you don't have BHX's problem where the codeshares are shown as different flights so that you have Brussels Airlines, Jet Airways and Lufthansa all appearing to arrive from Brussels at the same time.

Hi jfy1999

If you're travelling on a codeshare flight you would normally have a boarding card with the codeshare flight details on them. So in that case at least passengers using Brussels Airlines who have purchased their ticket through Jet Airways will see their flight code on the Flight Information Displays at the airport. It might be a pain for aircraft spotters and enthusiasts but it's handy information for the travelling passengers.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
