Around 4:15-5:00 there was what i can only describe as a biblical downpour with very strong winds just kicked up out of nowhere in Halifax. If it was coming from the west i guess it’s entirely possible it was avoiding a weather front?

The biblical downpour was here in Cookridge too, so presumably the same 2 miles away at LBA.

Same here over in north west leeds, the first proper torrential downpour in months really as autumn and winter so far has been pretty calm and kind to us! Many roads were flooded but i guess thats probably due to a build up leafs over nov and dec that have blocked the drains.

The enterair SP-ESA must be tech as it returned to stand earlier with another B738 SP-ESH positioning in from Prague to operate the flight to ENF

Eastern cancelled 2 out of 3 departures to AMS from Teesside so we are doing OK!

Strange, its just crossing the Dutch coast so plenty of time to get back to LBA. Maybe crew are out of hours?

Probably. It happened a couple of weeks ago too when returning from either Turkey or Cyprus. They seem to divert to STN as the nearest UK airport. I bet the unruly passengers who caused the divert into Sofia are popular.
