The idea of the lounges is to make money for the airport. It's no good people going in there and consuming alcohol/food more costly than the entry price.
On the other hand, isn't 3 drinks enough before you board a flight?

Ouch! The 3 drink limit seems a bit strange.

Given all the recent press about people being removed from flights after having excessive alcohol, I can understand it. Perhaps if things were more luxurious with manicures and massages one might justify the price. There is also a danger of making it too cheap then it could be a wash with undesirables sending the wrong impression.

I get why they've done it, but let another airport make the first move. Leeds has to be competitive.

Maybe LBAYORKIE, but what do people expect for 39 pounds? The lounge is supposed to be about the ambiance and experience, not just the drinks. There has to be some margin there for the airport, or it would become uneconomical.
Maybe people who use the Leeds lounges abuse the drinks offering more than those at other airports. I cant see aby other reason for the cap.

Yes and if I'm honest I would expect more from "head for points". Maybe it highlights the maturity of the journalist if all they're thinking about is the number of drinks they can consume while they're in the lounge instead of commending the airport for its sensible approach to drinking.

Not so good write up of the new lounges

LBA Lounges have always been poor value for money. Poor food, expensive and now rationing alcoholic drinks. The AVRO Lounge has to be one of the most expensive in the UK! I have a Priority Pass but I won't be using that and spending £39.00 each (my wife and I so x 2 = £78.00) to use what will probably be a very average lounge. Yes I know people will say 4 alcoholic drinks is enough but I don't think it represents value for money if you are paying the full price.

I agree with you.

There are toilets in there. They said so yesterday.

Not if you're making your point on social media they are not. You've got to tell lies; sweet nothings and completely blow things out of proportion. Oh and understanding such things as Border force ... dont be daft.

Not seasoned travellers / those who don't work in the industry loose their brains once they get the suitcase out of the loft. And social media is the best place to blow a story up that's actually a little one liner "we had to queue when we got back at LBA but its UK what you expect" over a coffee.

People can blame Border and Immigration Agency till the cows come home but it’s pointless.
People will relate that terrible experience to LBA and go elsewhere if they can.
It’s up to LBA to negotiate with the relevant authorities to ensure their customers are treated adequately.
That’s common sense isn’t it?

Heads Up!

For some weird reason, my days off work tend to involve being out of my flat by 5am and not getting back until 10pm. Back to work and the regular "fix" of 7.40am to 7.15pm hours
Heatwave Mk2 next week?
Some explosive weather build-ups currently in the North of England. What is it like where you are?

I don't believe I am quite covering enough roles at work. Its now 4 on a bad day, 5 on a good day and there is scope for a 6th and 7th role. Still on minimum pay but had the biggest payrise in the company,
