I don't want to put the "cat among the pigeons" but I have never ever had a problem with the escalator/steps on arrival. I can agree with WH comment regarding a possible calamity if people can't exit the escalator, so to avoid it, the escalator can't be used. I can remember the days of the 74 seat Viscount being the biggest aircraft at LBA, so rarely any problem.
I am sure someone at LBA has thought of it, but my suggestion would be to place a barrier (good idea?) at the top of the steps so that the exit to the escalator would always be clear. Better still, why not restrict the number of passengers entering the building and then the escalator can be used. But then people will moan about being held up - no patience nowadays.
It has been commented on here many times before, that people are quick to complain if things are not right, but never praise when things are good.
If members are not happy at the rate of improvement, tell the airport, offer them £millions to get the work done quickly and if you are really not happy, go to another airport, as I am sure that people use LBA because they have had an unhappy experience(s) at other airports.
