Is Emerald Airlines Ireland’s BEST regional airline? | Flight Review | Dublin–Leeds | ATR72-600 (Economy)
Emerald Airlines, operating under the Aer Lingus Regional brand, has quietly grown into a major player in Irish and UK regional aviation. They’ve taken over many of the short-haul routes once flown by Stobart Air, and in just a few years they’ve become a familiar sight across the network with their fleet of ATR 72-600s.
I recently flew them on the Dublin – Leeds Bradford hop, a no-fuss 48-minute sector across the Irish Sea. In my latest review, I cover:
• A quick look at Dublin Airport and the Liffey Lounge
• A short history of Emerald Airlines and their rapid growth
• My fare (€62.59 / ~£54) and what you get for it
• The ATR 72-600 cabin and seating
• On-board service and crew experience
• Some great views crossing the Irish Sea
• Final thoughts on whether Emerald could be considered Ireland’s best regional airline yet
Route: Dublin (DUB) → Leeds Bradford (LBA)
Aircraft: ATR 72-600
Cabin: Economy (Aer Lingus Regional)
Flight Time: 48 minutes
Fare Paid: €62.59

Curious to hear from others — what’s your take on Emerald Airlines so far? Have they managed to step up where Stobart left off, and do you see them as a strong long-term regional carrier for Aer Lingus?
