Use this prefix for new threads for Leeds Bradford Airport
Getting the bad news out of the way so that when the upcoming massive positive news arrives the parking charges very much become "old news". At least I hope so........
 
My guess, if it is a new airline then it will be one serving Luton or Newcastle and a joint deal has been done. It won't be Emirates or Turkish...too near to MAN. Most likely ( if any) Easyjet taking a punt....less risk for them as they can move out of an airport as quickly as they move in. My gut feeling though is that it's the next stage of the terminal development.

I'd be surprised if they based in the UK. Probably add new bases in the nordic.
 
I reckon infrastructure related, I.e terminal start date because let's face it a new terminal is much needed and is massive news as it will allow our airport growth potential in the future thats my opinion as an aviation enthusiast.
 
As we have known for ages that the terminal is due to be extended sometime soon (when they get around to it), I don't think confirmation of it being built would be massive news. Confirmation it had been scrapped might be massive for all the wrong reasons but just being told what we already knew was in the pipeline would be a disappointing outcome. Now, if someone confirms that start date and that following completion some new airline was going to base here, that might be massive depending on who they are, how many aircraft and how many routes. Sadly, the years have taught me to never expect anything really good and then if it doesn't happen I am not too disappointed.
 
That crossed my mind, a new airline that will start flying from LBA next year once the new terminal is completed, also its normally this time of year when an airline would announce a new base and routes.

Fantastic week at LBA as we were delighted to extend a warm Yorkshire welcome to our friends at Stobart Air, operating on behalf of Aer Lingus, who have grown capacity to Dublin with a third daily flight on peak days. Look out for more exciting route news from LBA during the next week.
 
It's a big job promotion to Director level for John and he will no doubt be under a lot of pressure to get results...and as a former employee, to bring Easyjet in. It's a tough job with even tougher targets. To deliver the projected airport growth then there's going to need to be some seismic hits over and above replacing lost Mon, BA and FR capacity.and nibbling at the edges of route development. I'm sure the news will be about Easyjet and wil have been done as a joint AMP deal with Newcastle and Luton. What does good look like in terms of Easyjet? To start making real inroads hopefully it will be 2 or 3 based aircraft (do Newcastle still have 3?) to take over where Mon left off. My hope for 2020 is that LBA has sustained growth rather than just playing catch up with route losses.
 
This weeks news could just be about the increased capacity from KLM. They have been doing a lot int the last few weeks to promote their links to via AMS. Although the capacity increase was spotted on here on a while ago, I haven’t seen anything official from LBA. Just a thought
 
Easyjet taking over where monarch left off is very much 2nd best in my opinion. What we need is destinations that will appeal to business travellers. The imbalance has to be addressed.
 
With the news today that Labour will try to ban private Jet travel in the U.K., the pressure on a business to cut to the bone business air travel will become a priority.
Its not going to be a growing market and there is likely to be a business move to use budget airlines to cut down their carbon footprint.
Whilst China open more coal burning power stations and make our changes pointless, they will still be a need for business to show some leadership and this is an area where its easy to show your aiding the planet.
LBA encouraging business flights will give the wrong outlook.
 
Perhaps Huddersfield Town should follow Leeds United's lead then and go on the bus to their further afield away matches. Good luck to labour with that policy. If I had splashed out a huge amount on a private jet so I could fly from A to B I wouldn't be happy if the Government suddenly turns round and tells me I cannot use it.
 
I so love all this speculation and it's what makes this forum so great. I totally get that previous experiences are making people sceptical but I firmly believe we are seeing a build up to something bigger than we have seen for a while. Here's hoping at least
