Looking at the prices to get to some of these towns and cities which are served by both rail and air, the plane, quite often is both cheaper and quicker.

BAW9250 G-EUUX A320 just gone over my house inbound LBA. First time i have seen a BA aircraft go into LBA. 16.28

Just watching it on the webcam. Looks strange amongst the usual gaggle of Jet2's! It must have come in on 32 as the ones leaving are flying out over Otley. Hopefully this will continue so I'll get to see it when it leaves.

God knows, but I nearly fell off my buffet at the airport when it landed. It definitely went out to LHR.

Do you think BA are "testing the water" in preparation for maybe using LBA if those strikes go ahead and shut down BAA airports?

Definitely not. It was a private charter from Leeds to Heathrow for a hundred or so pax.

I dont mind if BA start using LBA more often, but was nice to see something different over my house rather than Jet 2's & Ryanairs etc ....

Strange (but kinda good) to see BA back in. Used to be diversions and not much else since the Tristar incident. Only hope that its more often, even if it was a one off.

i know this is random but do lba do work experiance? and if they do where will you be put? :nea:

When I was 16 I enquired and they only offered it to local schools, Benton Park and Guiseley and possible the ones in Cookridge and Horsforth.
Its to do with security I was told, as they can't let too many come, and they can arrange for security checks with these partner schools. I guess its also to help the local community, and ease of access.

:( sercurity i want to take over the airport management and just build and build on the airport for 2 weeks you know get more shops in the airport, apply for runway extensions , try get the airport extension started ( whats the date for that to commence?). just give em a kick up the jaksey

[offtopic]Visited Heathrow Monday during my trip to London and I've posted some photos on the LHR photo forum, including the Emirates a380. Will upload a video of the Singapore Airlines a380 in a day or so.[/offtopic]

So we had a 767 the other day? This follows the BA flight the other week, and with PIA maybe sending a 777 our way I have to say it's exciting times for our little international airport. Who knows, maybe sometime in the future we may even get a 747 back!

Just been trawling the web looking for advice on buses to LBA, still can't find out which First Buses (if any) go there, and can't find out how much the 757 costs return to Leeds, not very impressed with the information (or lack of) to be honest. Anyway, the reason for my posting is because while searching I came across this: http://www.airlinequality.com/Airports/ ... um/lba.htm it shows some varied opinions of LBIA, many of which from a passenger's perspective are not good ones. I think sometimes we see through some of our airport's inadequacies, because it is OUR local airport, and we're pretty proud of it. It seems from a wider perspective we've got a long way to go in order to please the masses.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
