With apologies as I'm only referring to the subject being discussed and not the "host" airport.

I must admit that I use the FR24 airport data, however I start doing my stats by creating a word document and then delete flights that I know have not operated - normally those with an "unknown status" and those that have no populated registration. It's then a question of going through checking outbound against inbound flights - often an inbound, such as the Ethiopian doesn't show as an arrival and needs manually adding.

It all takes time, but it does give a fairly accurate representation of scheduled movements - of course excluded are GA, training and positioning flights!

Depends on your outlook. Next review due in 3 weeks, august peak summer. If your double vaccinated you can get away knowing there isn’t the the amber + decision looming at short notice over your

Shame nothing much has been added to Green but glad the idiots removed amber + which was red. Really.

Turkey with the wild fires in the holiday resorts may be a no go? I can see turkey not operating this season? maybe some winter stuff to AYT

India now an amber country, have their covid rates dropped, bit of a concern i feel, mainland spain is currently seeing an increase in covid rates so doubt its amber status will change for some time.
It’s reported that if they put Spain on red hotels wouldn’t be able to cope with the amount of people as it’s a popular country to go to and good job they haven’t put them on red as it would ruin thousands of peoples plans and wouldn’t help companies like Jet2 and Ryanair.

I agree I think if they changed Turkey from red to amber it wouldnt make much of a difference at the moment with wildfires affecting most of the places Jet2 fly to from LBA but let’s hope they can control them and the gov will put them on amber atleast because I’m not understanding why they still have them on red!

Winter AYT isn’t that brilliant. For weather.

I said this in the Jet2 thread even if it went amber would they go?

As for them been wild fires, Turkey has said they are arson and not genuinely wild fires. When has Turkey ever had a wild fire in summer season on this scale? And affecting all major resorts too. Greece gets isolated ones but I’ve never heard of Turkey suffering. Just the media pushing the green agenda, again,

Wild fires are a common occurrence in that part of the world. Yes, climate change is partly to blame. However, it's Summer so it gets very hot. I've been in Cyprus in July and some nights it was better to stay in hotel.

Unfortunately, for reasons best known to themselves, there are cases of arson. Cypriot authorities have blamed bored teenagers alongside farmers clearing their fields using the old burning stubble method. Then there's the shocking habit of throwing cigarette butts out of car windows. Even the Greek islands can suffer. Rhodes is affected at the moment, Evia's close proximity to Athens is causing concern.

We get wild fires here too. I live near to a large area of parkland with lots of scrub. If we get sustained period of very hot weather, fires often break out.

The positivity rate (the percentage of tests with a positive result) in India (2.3%) is now lower than in the UK (3.5%). The 7 day average of deaths per million population is 0.37 in India vs 1.22 in the UK. Obviously these figures are all dependent on the data from India being accurate.

The question is, how is someone travelling from India to the UK a threat to national health? The delta variant is now dominant here and across most of Europe, so if someone does arrive with covid it's hardly a variant of concern.

Also remember the ability to avoid home quarantine when arriving from an amber country is only allowed if you've been vaccinated in the UK, the EU or the USA - i.e. Indian citizens will still have to self isolate on arrival.

Friends just returned through LBA from majorca, was telling me the airport is like a war zone, nobody knows what documents, tests etc they require, no end of passengers kicking off and trouble. I think the ever changing rules and conflicting media coverage dont help

It's been pretty much the same for arrivals from Spain for a while now - pre arrivals test, PLF, day 2 & 8 test booking.

The only change recently is that those fully vaccinated in the UK/EU/US no longer have to self isolate after arriving from Spain and only need a day 2 test rather than a day 8. So for these people it is - pre arrivals test, PLF, day 2 test booking.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
