I've noticed on the LBA website that there hasn't been any press release since the appointment of Vince Hodder (is he still at LBA?) at the beginning of the year There also has been little on the Vlog/news either, are all communications now done through Social Media?

There were press releases but have, for some reason, been removed. These include the one about our new Aviation Development Director, acquired from MAN.

Alex Sobel is an anagram of Lose Ex LBA. Does that say something in itself. Separately Omicron is unfortunately going to do a perfectly good job for the climate change activists. This is not the backward step the industry really needed

For those who visit the viewing area at Cemetary Road, and who have found this year that the trees and bushes on the embankment have not been trimmed, reducing or eliminating a view over the airfield, I took the opportunity this afternoon ( at the Consultative Meeting) to approach Cllr Paul Wadsworth, with a request that he asks Leeds Parks Department to trim the vegetation back to beneath the level of the fence, which runs alongside the old roadway. This will restore the view, and remove any need to venture into the cemetary or sit on the cemetary boundary wall (ignoring the signs prohibiting this).

At his request, I have followed this up with a written email request just now.

So, watch this space!!

If this Boris circus collapses he might just get some power so remember that when and if you vote for him.
If this Boris circus collapses the opposition agenda will no doubt also change with lots of backtracking, especially with things of economic interest such as LBA.

Re: Sobel, in his Adel ward they want to remove all the trees and hegdes to accommodate a 10 light traffic light system on the Lawnswood roundabout . Total hypocrisy about the environment.

True, but to be fair to him ( much as I hate being so), he objects to the plans.

A warm welcome Mr Hodder but it is a shame that it has taken you so long to speak up on this subject. However , better late than never I suppose. But now what is needed is some regular press worthy news being generated to keep this lack of action by the Govt on the boil. My fear is that if this doesn't happen then Gove will sit and sit on it. He and the Govt need pressing loudly and often with the Council doing their bit too, if they can be bothered that is.

The Council have also communicated with the Government and, like LBA, got no reply. They and the airport can shout all they like in public but it will make no difference to Government. They will do what they want over whatever period they want. This isn't democracy. The plans were approved via a democratic process but Government have just deliberately blocked them without even speaking to the airport or council to explain why, what the problem is, or how long it will take. It's absolutely disgusting and this would not happen if it were a Southern airport or one situated near Manchester!

Good to see that the BBC as usual, gave a voice and the last word to GALBA on Look North, instead of welcoming the airports plans to become carbon neutral, effectively pouring scorn on the plans, and claiming yet again that aircraft emit 99% of LBA emissions - which frankly I refuse to believe is anything other than a downright fabrication.
Instead of welcoming this, as others have, the BBC seek only to undermine LBAs announcement. I don't think they would have done that if the announcement had been made by DSA.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!
If anyone would like to share their local airport news right here in our news area let me know so I can give you the correct permissions to do so. It only takes a couple of minutes to upload a news story with an accompanying image. The news items can then be shared on the site homepage by you. #TakePart #Forums4airports Bring the news to one place!
survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
