Did someone say we are expecting an outcome of the airport night flying application shortly?
My understanding was it was originally late June, but then it was delayed as, no doubt, they who shall not be named refused to shut up. So probably mid July? Maybe next week? Or late July? Or maybe, as this is LBA, sometime next year. If we're lucky.

It has all gone quiet on this subject, the last report I read was July (no exact date). No doubt when it is released, it will be a "fudge" ie no clear decision.
There has been enough time to examine the evidence but who knows what happens in the minds of LCC.

It's nothing to do with Leeds City Council. The Council are one side, the airport the other, they that shall not be named just a time consuming nuisance that insisted on crashing the party, and the decision will be taken by someone independent (similar to a Government inspector) who presumably has expertise in planning law interpretation.

If the Council were presiding over this we would have lost before we started given that it's their interpretation that LBA are appealing. They'd be judge, jury and executioner!

Not sure which thread to post it in, but looks like LBA are flogging the new lounges at a discounted rate, looking at the feedback / comments, people are not happy the 3 drink limit. I completely agree, and don't think its good value for money, maybe yes in the old terminal where you couldn't get a seat and a lounge guarantees you one, but obviously the discount promotion is trying to increase bookings due to no doubt lack of. And before anybody jumps on me, no I don't support drunks / anti social on aircrafts however, 3 drinks restriction and anything extra you have to pay, is poor value for money.

Secondly, I have been scanning a few tour operator websites recently and many do not offer LBA as a departure airport. I'm not sure if this is one to raise at the ACC meeting Heather / to bring up directly with trade, but surely we are losing out on Tour Operator bookings just going over the hill as LBA isn't offered when it 100% can and should be.

Disney Land Paris was one of them but now looks like easyJet flights are feeding through which is great.

However P&O / MSC / Royal Caribbean, Crystal Ski/Neilson all do not offer or very very limited when there is definitely LBA departures available.

And what is equally galling is that todays Yorkshire Post has a half page advert for holidays in Europe next Christmas: no law against that, but the flights to Germany are listed are from LHR! The need for a German
link was spotted years ago by Brown AIr, but that route sank taking with it the Oslo Fornebu link too! Sabena filled the gap for a bit, but Europe is indeed poorly linked with mid and northern Europe. Viva KLM or Europe will indeed be a foreign country with ferries from the UK only going as far North as Rotterdam! Rant half over!

One of my pet peeves is seeing Leeds based agents having the majority / all departures from MAN. C’mon support local, we all know LPL/NCL agents etc support their local airport where possible.

I use an ad blocker extension in Chrome (AdBlock) for all my browsing. This site has a warning when I open it but I just ignore it and carry on and free. Worse still are the newspapers such as Telegraph & Argus. Another trick is to switch off JavaScript which sometimes stops the ad scrip from loading but allows the text (which here, is the bit you want) to load.

I cant really object to the ads, its just working out how to turn some of them off.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
