“Planes often veer off course because the of the tight cornering so early in the take off.” “Tight cornering”!. He probably thinks aircraft have a car steering wheel , a gear lever and a clutch.

He's talking rot. The gateway is actually quite wide and anywhere within it is fine. Only a very small number of aircraft stray outside it, usually due to weather, weather avoidance or issues with the aircraft instrumentation on a particular type or airline. LBA always monitor this and work with airlines to sort things. LBA have demonstrated this numerous times. Representatives from Menston have seen this and accepted it. This is nothing more than mischief making to whip up opposition and try to influence the revised tracks. I'm sure the areas that they would have the aircraft flying over, instead of Menston, will be delighted.

Having said that, the airport have said they are addressing the issue with Wizz Burley overflights for how long? 2 years.
Its about time it was resolved.

Why are they moaning about the departure route? I thought it was to be amended to a right turn off 32 at some point to make it easier for departures to Eastern Europe and to separate departures to Spain etc so they circle back over the airfield in the climb to prevent conflict with inbound traffic. Or was I dreaming that?
Maybe I should have clicked the link before posting above! It tells me in there clearly the new routing!

They are still over-flying Burley as far as I can see. Its been mentioned at several of the LBA community meetings.
They can still be within the gateway passing over Burley. Being there doesn't mean its off track. This is the problem. If they're over Burley, people complain. If they're over Menston, people complain. The Gateway is pretty wide !

People need to get a hobby, rather than complaining about aircraft noise/routing. Maybe take up plane spotting with a book full of registrations to check off!
Far more important and serious issues in this country than plane noise which lasts all of maybe a few minutes!

Exactly there are far more serious situations occuring in this country at the moment, situations that will make aircraft noise the last thing on people's minds!

Just back from the LBA community meeting, a very enjoyable speech by vince hodder this eve and certainly an eye opener. Lots of very interesting statistics and data produced. How vince manages to cope with some of those attending is beyond me and some of the comments are just ridiculous ie " the plane noise is unbearable when in the garden" 😂
A lady from those that shall not be named was handing out leaflets at the door, what a sad individual!

You should have asked for multiple leaflets so you could distribute them. Then tear them up in front of her. Its people like her that lead me not to attend. Im afraid I might end up getting arrested!

And they all have that same look, can spot that breed a mile off 😂
It was just laughable some of the comments the local residents were making and there so up there own a***! Its difficult to have a decent conversation as all they do is just moan moan moan about the so called aircraft noise, obviously with us on here its a hobby so we like to ask the more interesting questions about pos new routes, tech stuff but sadly its overshadowed by the moaners.

A few notes i jotted down tonight inc

The airports looking more at long haul flights to the middle east rather than north america at present.
The posible flightpath/airway route changes will result in a 4percent reduction in emissions

Fleet upgrades to all max/neo and other new aircraft will reduce emissions by 14percent and by 2035 when even newer cleaner aircarft are produced will cut emissions by a further 16percent, believe thats nationwide though

Reg our new terminal extension
Until the E gates are fitted security passport control frequency remains the same as before(8 desks) this is prob the reason why when i flew back in oct there was a long queue.
83percent more seating as this was the biggest complaint with pax
And vince mentioned about a pos new hotel on site.
I will leave the rest to finger66 as he never stopped taking notes this eve😂

Thanks LBA4EVER. Appreciated.
Those NIMBY folk turn up at every single one of these events. Its a obsession. Shame they have nothing better to do with their sad lives.

So @Bhowani @LBA4EVER and myself all attended last night's community event which was overall very poorly attended with probably only 20 to 25 in attendance. As @LBA4EVER mentioned I did make a lot of notes which I will share in due course, but please bear with me as due to upcoming commitments it may take me a few days to compile
I think the airport normally have about 50 places on offer and expect 15% drop out rate, so 20-25 is low. It could be some of the locals attended the event in Burley or Otley.

As soon as the next dates are announced which i would expect will be thru the eventbrite site i will book again, although if anyone on here finds out the next event dates please post them. I no what to expect at these events now 👌
You need to go to more than one to take in all the info!

It was interesting something else that was stated about different events, so for anyone going to one in the future you will probably be able to prepare on the hottest local topic:
Cookridge - railway station dominated proceedings
Yeadon - it was parking
Menston - (last night) of course it was noise but also quite a bit on the environment/SAF too

My feeling having attended 3 of these events is that although GALBA spend a lot of time spouting about the environmental impact of emissions, most people who attend are only interested in noise.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
