It's also part of the problem with the written word - how one person means it isn't always how another interprets it.

That said I agree with the previous posts above and we all have a joint love for LBA. We just have different ways of showing it. We are all individuals after all and if we were all the same, and thought the same, then not only would the world be a dull place, there would be no need for this forum to exist as there would be nothing to discuss.

@LBA4EVER 2 tickets booked for Baildon on 09Feb and @LBAYORKIE 2 also booked for Meanwood on 11Feb. A few logistics still to sort but Mrs Finger and I are trying to do our supportive bit where we can
Hopefully 2 more joining us at Meanwood

If I was in the same situation as WH I will leave the forum alone for a month or 2, far more important things in life than an aviation forum.
It works that way for some but not all of course.

Thats great. I cant make Baildon but have booked for Meanwood.

Can I just say that I am sorry that my comments in reply to The Pole's post have led to so much debate. Nowhere within that post was there any criticism of The Pole who was simply reporting what had been said, and the points I made were subsequently expressed by others too. It was disappointing to be accused of going on the defensive as its happened before. I criticise LBA when its deserved.

As for whether or not I should, or shouldn't be posting in the current circumstances, others have already said how I feel. This forum has, since 2009, been a daily part of my life. At present I have been posting very little, spending most of my time for the past 11 days sat with my Mum, waiting, sadly, for the inevitable. Sometimes, sitting there for many hours, undisturbed and in silence, with Mum away with the fairies, there's a chance to use my phone and catch up. Maybe even an occasional comment.

Like YorkshireLad, 2025 has been truly awful and I am not convinced 2026 will be any better, knowing what's coming. Frankly, I am dreading it. So it may turn out that I post less, perhaps cause less controversy, but whatever is going on, I will make time to keep up to date with LBA by reading this forum. I've even learned to do it entirely one handed whilst holding my Mums hand!

This will be my final post of 2025. So, may I take this opportunity to wish everyone a very happy new year. Perhaps we can all have a joint new year resolution to be kind and supportive of each other.

Interesting conversion with a member of the Easy jet cabin crew. They hate it when LBA is on their roster. Always an issue and never depart on time! Currently delayed due to issues with passenger lists at check-in so didn't start checking in till 730
Now a passenger has seats on row 30 but no row 30 on aircraft
Well those folks best get used to it as they will be working there on an increasing basis going forward…
As for LBAs delay record it doesn’t even feature in the top ten of UK airports for delays……unlike for instance MAN which comes in at No.2 https://www.yorkshireeveningpost.co...airports-for-flight-disruption-5257672?page=2

Forgive me if this has been posted somewhere and I’ve missed it. Where can I find dates of the meetings please? I have an LBA supporting friend in Otley who would be keen to attend

Link is on our Facebook page here

Or here are the posts details.

Two further LBA Community - a sustainable business and good neighbour events have been confirmed for the new year.

We at the LBA Support Group encourage all supporters of the airport to attend at least one of these meetings to hear directly from the Airport's CEO Vincent Hodder and learn more about its future plans, you can even ask any of them lingering questions you may want answering.

Both events are free to attend but are ticketed due to limited space at the venues. These will be held at St Johns Parish Church, in #Baildon on Monday, February 9th and at Meanwood CofE Primary School, #Meanwood on Wednesday, February 11th 2026.

Both events run 1800-2030 with tickets available below

St John's Parish Church event on February 9th: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/lba-...1814774071099?aff=ebdssbdestsearch&keep_tld=1

Meanwood CofE Primary School, Meanwood event February 11th

Similar story for me !
Been looking after my father in law for the last few years who has now passed.
We are on holiday at present and I have found it much better to listen to the comments of all kinds in the forum than join in even when I do not agree.
Sad times but life goes on and I hope we have good news and the airport support improves during 2026. Best wishes to all if you and hope you are all happy to continue the forum.

@LBAYORKIE please can you accept that not everyone has the desire to attend these meetings or find it impossible like myself.
There are many different ways we can support LBA, one of the most important is to use it and encourage friends/relatives to use it.
I don't think that you will curb the "operations" of the anti LBA brigade by attending these meetings

I, and several others on here believe it makes a difference. We criticise the 'opposition' ad infinitum so why would we let them monopolise these meetings? It an opportunity to let them know that those who are 'pro' airport are just as committed as they are. Staying away achieves nothing.

Presently Sat on TO on the airbridge, gate3 and boarding for Fuerteventura..The airport was chaotic with wizz flights delayed...Their travellers are awful...The staff dread them according to them with good reason..
The new terminal is good, airy and spacious but the old and the new don't work...but when its all finished I think it will be impressive indeed..Im very open minded about it...

Presently refuelling then off...aircraft full

As long as they remember these custom- ers are paying their wages.

Really any pax, especially at this time of year need to be welcomed.

Just sitting in the car at the cemetery for the first time since the bushes were cut back.

It seems the fence has been taken down and the shrubs in front of where it was have been trimmed. They have left about 6 small trees on the bank which obscure the view.

I believe that another council team cuts down trees but whether they are planning to do so or not is anyones guess. I am wondering if the trimming of the shrubs was to facilitate the erection of a new fence- its certainly a steep drop.

The trees that obscure the view on the other side of the road (on the land that no one will take respobsibility for) are still standing as is one tree on airport land- which they have promised to cut down this year.

Overall not much of an improvement.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
