Aviador: Not trying to defend Bridgepoint, but having paid over the top for the airport, they saw passenger numbers fall for three years in a row. Before opening my own comapny I rose to Financial director a of a public company and know the pressure the city puts on if revenue falls, just about makes it impossible to inject further capital expenditure.
As Gordon Brown always used to say in his first half dozen budgets, you need to be "Prudent" we used to bet on how many times he would say it. Bridgepoint for me are enacting a very prudent course of action, invest when the need arises, its pointless to put down apron space etc unless needed. To me investment has been sound and well spent. I dont have all the accounts to hand but do remember an investment of £11m in the terminal in 2012, and I seem to remember Bridgepoint announcing they had invested an additional 20% to the purchase price, making around £29m.
I have seen hundreds of companies go to the wall as they spend, before the revenue stream had been obtained.
We have on the 23rd June yet another unknown coming along. Until her article in the Sunday Times last week I had a lot of respect for Carolyn McCall at Easyjet. Dont know where she jets her prices for European flights years ago, in the 70's and 80's I was flying to spain with the likes of Dan Air and British island airways, for £70 on TOD, just using one leg and throwing the other leg of the tickets away.
I hope we leave and abandone the E U compensation flight delay scheme which is adding i am told at least 15% to every ticket price.

White Heather - Do you know when the master plan will be posted on the website and released for public viewing??

All I would advise you to do "Airplane" is read the last bit of White Heathers last post on this page and I think you'll have your answer.
I understand it will be on line to view by the end of next week, so you have just 1 more week to wait.

Personally then Heather how excited/impressed were you from 1 to 10? And do you view this as more or less ambitious than existing plan?

Think it unfair for White Heather to comment, she is under an embargo under which she is not allowed to release any information, until the masterplan publication date.
I am sure we are all going to get a chance to view and make our own decisions in the near future. We should not preseeure White Heather who has been good enough to give us as much information as she can.

Oh I agree hence my carefully worded questions about her excitement/opinion without asking specifics :)

Nice try but as Tarn Spotter has said, Heather is subject to an embargo until the masterplan is formerly released.

;) I will answer your question Leedslad - next week, when hopefully the Masterplan will be published.

Am I sure about what?

Missing posts - no just that there isn't any showing in my browser. No posts between White Heathers post on 26 Feb and Tarn Spotter on 7 Mar - yes I'm sure but I'm not sure what posts may have been there. Such quietness on such a subject as this would be most surprising.

Apologies if all actually is okay.

White Heather opened a new thread for the Masterplan so it doesn't clog this thread.

Hi Heather would the forum be an appropriate place to ask for an update on the airports aspirations and progress on business friendly routes? It seems always that new routes are ski, beach or city break focused. It seems there's little in the way of business friendly routes and timings besides Amsterdam, Heathrow, Dublin and at a push Paris (too infrequent).

It would and I have already asked. They are actually very focussed on increasing their business offering beyond what is already on offer. It isn't their policy to disclose what routes or airlines they are after though, so pointless asking.

Possible question for the board meeting:

As the CAA seem somewhat unreliable for producing passeger stats these days, is it not possible for the airport to release it's own passenger figures each month? We know most other airports do this so I can't forsee any reason why LBA shouldn't be able to do the same?

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
