July stats are out and we are showing a drop of 0.4% from 503,330 to 501,352. Donny fared worse with a 9% drop from 153,444 to 139,863.

Manny were down 0.6%, Humberside down 5.4% and Donny were down 10.6%, so not a great month for the North.

That is one hell of a drop for DSA in what is supposed to be their busiest month of the year. Not good and they should be worried.

Don`t forget the Monarch effect on Manchester and Leeds
It isn't just the Monarch effect here at LBA mullion, it is also the British Airways effect, as they have reduced their flights by 50%, and on top of that, we have the lesser impact of the loss of the Eastern flights to Aberdeen and a reduction in flights to Southampton too. Fortunately Jet2 have increased their offerings and Thomas Cook have made a come back (albeit not the based A320 they originally promised), so a 1% drop in our busiest month is to be expected and is no disaster.

CAA Stats September 2018

Published today and show that 464,524 passengers used the terminal in the month, up 0.3% on September 2017. Atms were down 9.2%. Rolling 12-month total was 4,009,789, down 0.7% on a year ago.

September 2018 was the last month for Logan Glasgow route. Now get past the October 2018 stats and the Monarch effect should recede.
Hoping the numbers should increase over the winter as Jet2 have more flights this winter, but the BA service reduction will remain in place until March 2019 figures.

A completely left field view might be: Dwindling numbers = desperate measures = making TUI a deal they couldn't resist?

I wouldn't think such a thing is particularly left field. It is clear that these days airports have to provide incentives to get airlines in and then to keep them there, and some airports probably have to do this more than others. I am sure also that some airport owners are more able/willing to give greater incentives than others too. Whether that applies to DSA and whether that has impacted on TUi's operations from LBA is anyone's guess. I have already made my guess though...……...

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
