The adage in PIA Regarding new aircraft/routes goes something like:

"Dont believe its coming, till you see it on the ground with your own eyes". ''

Kinda like counting your chickens........

Just a heads up and if im not mistaken I posted something similar here a long time back on chances of the 777 coming to LBA.

That sounds like a coded message to say it may yet not happen Aroosh, despite all the press releases to say it will from 13th March. Rather a mischievous post I think in the circumstances?

Hmmm! Yes, I read it like that as well White Heather.

Well if it doesn't happen, I feel the flight will disappear altogether. Not long to wait now (one way or the other)

I agree Aviador. If after announcing it, and the council being told, PIA pull the plug, they will lose all credibility at LBA particularly in view of the very high loads they have been carrying recently. Frankly I would think Bridgepoint would take a very dim view too. At least it is still being shown on the website. The time to worry is when it disappears!

Well if PIA do end up pulling what about Shaheen with the A330?? Personally i think the A330 would be more suited for LBA operations to Islamabad but it doesn't stop me wanting to see the 777 flying in and out of LBA.

I notice todays flight is due around 3 hours late into LBA,around 1945.Let's hope the 777 is more reliable if it does appear later this month.

Starting to look like its a big IF IT STARTS !!!!!! based on alleged inside information. My fingers are crossed that we see its wheels on our little runway.

Well with a week to go until the big one arrives do we no if LBA has all the equipment now to handle the 777

According to a few friends of mine at Servisair the larger tug with a 777 tow bar and preferably a new de-icing vehicle have yet to arrive.

My company must still think it's happening as I'm now rostered for a PIA 777 familiarisation course at Manchester this Friday.

3 different companies mentioned to me yesterday that they've been told that its been delayed!

Well i've got to admit its quite amazing how quickly romours spread now-a-days in these parts of country..
Some how we have gone from one person speculating that it might not happen last week to people on here saying they have been told by 3 different compines its been delayed a couple of days later.

Well myself says lets just wait and see what turns up next week shall we!. As my source is still adiment that the 777 is coming and that the first flight will be operated by a very senior PIA flight crew and mangerment.
Also surely the staff working at LBA would have been told something official by now instead off sending them on courses to get teady for it.?

I am sure it will be a training captain only operation and then be downgraded to captains under supervision for a while too. That is the way most Airlines would deal with a tight airfield operation like this.

Not sure if it is significant or not (I hope not!) but the PIA 777 ad that was on the LBA home pages has gone. The old press release about it is still there though. All becoming rather mysterious and slightly worrying.

Pia timetable on there web site shows a A310 on 13th

First 777 flight showing on PIA website now showing as 3 April, up to that date appears we still have the A310. Just wonder if that will change and we are destined never to see the PIA 777 at LBA.

the flight track app on the Iphone is showing today's A310 as delayed until 1715 which agrees with LBA's website, it shows an A310 for this coming Saturday and then a 772 from next Wednesday onwards........

Well i do hope its a 777 as i'm booked on the pk776 on the 13th. I'm travelling with over 50 family members and rellatives for a wedding. We booked back in November and it took alot of convincing and pleading to get them to choose LBA as man was cheaper. I should be getting commission. On a side note we all live in Leeds not Bradford.

Well it's not often I admit it but according to my reliable source it looks like some changes are been made......

Just re-checked the PIA website http://www.piac.com.pk/WeeklyFlightSchedule.aspx and it sure does look like the introduction of Boeing 777-200 operation's on the Islamabad - Leeds routes has in fact been delayed for a few weeks, well at least until Wednesday, April 3rd. As all flight up to Saturday, March 30th are now showing up as Airbus A310 operated.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
