Aircraft appears to have diverted to UTAA en-route to LBA.

Should just be leaving Ashgabat (now Turkmenistan) shortly. Nice to see the fall of the Soviet block bypassed some!

PIA775 from Islamabad/Ashkhabad now has a new ETA of 00:10. So I wonder if the PIA776 crew will be over the crew hour limits by then and maybe force a night-stop?
Otherwise if not I see the locals are going to be woken up by that so called noisy Airbus 310 at around 01:30 in the morning
:whiteflag: .

Medical divert tonight. I've spoken to a friend at LBA who has informed me the passenger has unfortunately died.

The aircraft is expected to operate the return 776 ASAP so it will not be night stopping.

Yeah I heard it too just as I was going to bed,I live in LS9 also.

The A310 makes a distinctive noise. It seems to make a whistling sound when it flies in,and it just sounds big and loud when it goes. That's the limit of my aircraft technical knowledge!.

Another LS9'er here and I too heard it as I'd not long gone to bed. Didn't know it was the PIA though. That's some bloody delay!!

Is last night's PIA still on the deck?? Showing as estimated to depart at 11:30 today.

Tech a/c so it had to night stop...

When or if PIA are finally privatised we will probably see the back of this horror story! I just hope the airport can attract a decent replacement when this happens...

Middle eastern 3 or Turkish please!! :good:

I've just spoken to a friend who was working last night. He has told me the shocking reason for the cancellation last night...

It appears one of the flight deck was intoxicated!! :shok:

I have no real evidence to back this up but believe what he has told me to be the truth.

I was just thinking I wonder what effect this will have on PIA crewing. Because as I understand LBA is the only destination in the UK that PIA fly's the A310 into.

So with one off last nights flight crew members been detained by UK Authorities who will replace that person's place on the flight deck today. Will it be a member of crew from yesterday's inbound PIA775 after his rest, hence the reason for the on-going 16 hour delay or do PIA have a back up A310 crew based in the UK?
If its the case that one of last nights crew heads back on today's flight I suppose they will then have to fly out a replacement crew member on a Manchester flight so to take his place on Saturday outbound service?

Just seen the report on Itv Calendar too.

It says the nearly 200 passengers were put up in a hotel overnight. That has got to be a hard job to find hotel accomodation for so many,on a mid week night.Anyone know which hotel/s they were sent to?.

would the departure time be influenced by the fact that it was probably gone midnight before the passengers got to bed by time hotels and coaches were sourced then a coach journey back and re check in and security this morning?

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
