Anyone else seen today's latest trick by Boeing testing a new Rolls Royce engine. They have flown one of their Boeing 787 Dreamliner test aircraft over the USA today for 18 hours.

So it looks like Boeing have got their way as far as the Bombardier ruling is concerned. If Boeing are going to penalise Bombardier, I wonder if certain European airlines could rally round and stop buying Boeing aircraft and switch to Airbus instead?

Don't think it'll effect anything over here but it could give Airbus and Embraer a boost in the US.

60 Minutes Australia production where reporter Liz Hayes investigates the disaster of Boeing’s 737 MAX. The video contains scenes some users may find distressing.

Wow, personally if they find a remedy I will not be using this aircraft for a good number of years after reading this.

I think that there will have to be a system whereby the pilot can turn off the computer and fly it manually. Will it happen?

They already can.

Boeings are much less automated than Airbus. The issue is not the automation, the issue is letting the pilots know when the automation is doing something, and ensuring that there are logic safeguards to prevent the automation from doing something detrimental - Boeing did not get these right whereas Airbus does seem to.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.

Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
