Where have you been Ap1995 !!!! they have never liked Leeds due to crosswinds, low cloud/fog and the short runway. They operate here only because they have to not because they want to. Our marketing people have worked hard to get them to slowly increase operations to where we are today.

It will either be Cat 1 or Cat 3 as the Uk do not allow Cat 2 if your company are Cat 3 approved and we know Thomsons are but not at Leeds due to runway restrictions.

Snowman1 looks like you was getting a little giddy there about Thomson Holidays and Malaga! You still not happy with having 3 choices Ryanair, Jet2 and now Monarch Airlines???

Understand Thomson Airways based Boeing 757-200 aircraft flight programme for summer 2016 is undergoing some changes. The proposed Friday daytime Menorca-Mahon flight is now been moved to late Monday overnight slot and Tunisia flights won't be returning as previously planned.

Looking the Thomson website, they have Menorca now bookable on Monday's

06:30 departure with a arrival back in to LBA at 12:35

However on Monday mornings Dalaman is bookable with the flight times of

07:10 departure and an arrival back into LBA at 17:10, so it looks like they are still messing with the schedule

Just noticed that Thomson Holidays have been updating there summer 2016 schedules and it looks like the Leeds/Bradford - Dalaman flights timings have now been altered so to fit in with the based aircraft and will now operate Monday afternoons.

Does this mean now we have the same amount of weekly flights as Summer 15?

Also has the 757 been confirmed?

Yeap it does means we still have the same amount of flights as summer 2015, Its just that capacity has been shifted around a little bit as the based aircraft dose an extra w-leg on Fridays. The Crete-Heraklion route has been dropped whilst Dalaman and Corfu have been reduced from 2x weekly to 1x weekly each. Good news is that these have been replaced by 2 new routes to Cyprus Paphos and Mahon operating 1x weekly whilst Palma has been increased from 4x weekly to 5x weekly.
By way, No I haven't seen any confirmation yet on Thomson Airways baseing a Boeing 757-200 at LBA next summer 2016, Still only just have the initial press release which stated they would be extra seats on offer, but i'll keep checking around for you Ap1995 until I have some information set in concrete. You know what Thomson's and LBA relationship has been like over the years!

Thought Monarch didn't sell seats to tour operators.

Well Thomas Cook Holidays have been doing it for a good few years so it looks like Thomson Holidays have jumped on the band waggon of taking seats on Monarch Airlines scheduled flights operated from Leeds/Bradford.

This has undoubtedly been discussed in this topic, but I remember Thomson flew to Paphos, Sharm-El-Sheikh and Mahon during the summer of 2013, why did these routes get dropped? I can imagine because Mahon is already served out of Leeds/Bradford by Jet2 and Monarch so there was a lot of competition, but why the other two? Sharm is a very popular destination for UK holidaymakers, it seems as popular as Palma, Tenerife, Alicante, Faro, Corfu, Dalaman, etc in terms of how you can fly there from pretty much any UK airport, but after Jet2 dropped it a few years back, Thomson was the only provider between Leeds and Sharm.

Flights to Sharm-El-Sheikh became less popular after the Egyptian revolution of 2013 when things became less stable than they already were. I have no idea why Cyprus Paphos was dropped. Mahon is already served well from Leeds as you say but there is ample capacity for Thomson to continue the flight if they so wished, so again no real reason for them to discontinue the flight there.

Is it not the case that Mahon and Paphos are back for Thomson in Summer 2016? No chance with Sharm el Sheikh in the current climate I would think and I can only seeing flights to that destination being scaled back dramatically as the events in Syria and the wider Middle East unfold.

I agree and things could get much worse if flights to Turkey get scaled back. To be honest, I wouldn't want to go to Turkey at the moment.

Surprisingly, despite everything and their immediate proximity to Syria, Turkey is still considered pretty safe... at the moment. Probably because their casual attitude to IS fighters travelling through the country is enabling so many people to get into Syria, IS won't want to risk this.

Although if their resolve towards IS stiffens in light of the Russia issue and Putin's statements, things might get a little more risky.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
