This surely has to be increased in frequency sooner rather than later. The summer season has yet to start !!
It's certainly been well received in terms of the number of punters. But, as we've said so often, quite a number of easyJet routes at BRS (and perhaps elsewhere for all I know) have seen consistently high loads for a number of years but with no sign of increased frequency. Perhaps it's the yield they are protecting.

Krakow was easyJet's sole territory for several years but then Ryanair came on to the route and both airlines seem to have enjoyed high loads for the past year or two. Venice is another that is seeing increased frequencies across both airlines (11 x weekly this winter and summer and possibly 14 x weekly next winter). Presumably the yields on both KRK and VCE suit both airlines or the frequencies would be lessened. A number of sun routes have been seeing both easyJet and Ryanair on them for a number of years with no obvious impediment to either airline.

Does anyone know for certain how many 320s will be based at BRS this summer? One earlier post suggested 10 but that might have been peak summer when the 16th aircraft arrives.

The reason I ask is that with so many routes selling out, and some have been highlighted in recent posts, they are crying out for more capacity.

Madrid, for example, is sold out on five of the next seven outbounds. This daily flight seems to have 320s on Thursdays and Sundays and 319s for the rest of the week. That said, two of the sold out flights I've just mentioned are on the 320s.

The easyJet schedule certainly is a bit strange this summer. It seems strange to bring in no16 half way through the peak 6 week school summer holidays plus I not sure I understand why split has a 5 weekly service only for 3 weeks in June and Olbia goes only 2 a week for one week in august then reverts to 3 weekly. A similar thing occurs for Marseille earlier in the season too. It just doesn't look complete as I have already said unless they intend to leave an aircraft or two spare at certain times

Copenhagen is another funny one. Having been 2 x weekly year-round for a year or two it rises to 3 x weekly in the second part of May, then 4 x weekly for most of June. July and the first half of August see it drop back to 3 x weekly before then going back up to 4 x weekly for the rest of August and for the whole of September and October.

I always find it strange that easyJet only serves Paris once daily with low competition whilst serves Amsterdam twice a day with tougher competition from klm . That goes alongside the likes of Rome that surely there's demand for more and the lack of variety with the Greek isles.
Continuing this theme, the next five easyJet BRS-CDG sectors are sold out and the next two CDG-BRS. More business for BM (assuming they're not sold out too) and other airports for anyone wanting to book a flight to Paris from the area from Monday to Friday this week.

Zurich is a strange one as years ago crossair operated the route but pulled out due to lack of pax and they started operations from 1 of the London airports. They now operate from LCY. BA as in bacon operated Zurich till they were bought out by flybe. The route was never operated again after flybe dropped all routes from BRS. EasyJet I expect have looked at doing Zurich but with gva doing well and basle doing ok now they perhaps thought they were enough to cover the amount of pax that want to go to Zurich As I said its a strange one as its a city that has a lot of connections with the banking sector

Didn't helvetic operate Zurich from CWL via BRS?

They did. Coincidentally, I mentioned that in a post in this thread ten days ago which I copy below.

Don't forget Helvetic.

https://www.forums4airports.com/threads/2165/

Helvetic began a ZRH-CWL-ZRH route in spring 2011 with F100 aircraft at 3 x weekly. Loads were never as high as hoped and in December that year the airline introduced BRS into the equation routing ZRH-BRS-CWL-BRS-ZRH. Overall loads obviously improved and to the degree of 2:1 in favour of the BRS end which ratio was seen consistently each month until Helvetic axed the CWL part of the route at the end of summer 2012 (the figures are included in the BRS Helvetic thread at the above link).

ZRH-BRS-ZRH continued until the beginning of winter 2014/2015 when it too was axed. Loads had been building steadily but obviously not to the degree the airline wanted.

I know for a fact that BRS made great efforts to get Helvetic to increase to 6 x weekly which apparently would have enabled a feed into Swiss's long-haul from ZRH. Helvetic from BRS and CWL had always been point to point.

Summer

Looking at next week's Mayfly, there appear to be eight 320s based - I think it's been seven for the last part of the winter. The early part of the summer season doesn't call for all the easyJet aircraft that will be based later in the season. Next week the maximum seems to be 13.

Lots of routes sold out again at various times next week with Krakow, for example, sold out on the next four outbounds (Sun, Mon, Thurs and Fri) plus Sunday's inbound sold out. Ryanair's outbound Krakow on Monday is also sold out with Wednesday apparently nearly so with sector price £209 and the same with Friday (sector price £254).

Mayfly is showing 92 departures in total across all airlines (excluding Airbus and BAE shuttles) on Monday, the first day of the summer season. On the corresponding Monday in 2017 there were 83 departures with 12 easyJet aircraft, six of which were 320s.

As far as I'm aware there is still gaps in the august schedule . Any likelihood they will be filled or left empty now ?

Were their gaps last August? I can't remember. Although airlines like easyJet will obviously want to make full use of all their aircraft in the peak summer season there might be advantages in building in a bit of slack. I say 'might' because I'm not an airline planner and have no intimate knowledge of the subject.

The EasyJet rotation is being run with a EasyJet Swiss today. Due in as EZS6156 due 06.40. Dep at 07.10 and flt no EZS6155. Is this the first time EZS have done this rotation. I know EZS been doing one of the rotations on a Saturday.

Sadly I do not recall aircraft sitting on the tarmac during peak summer like they do during the winter. After all that's when they need to be most active . Looking at Monday for example all 16 aircraft are in full use. However Saturday there is only 15 early departures ( Ali, ams, bcn, bfs, her, edi, fao, goa, inv, ace, agp, mur, nce, fco, and spu. ) easyJet are due to release their first tranche of winter 18 soon so I wonder if gaps may be filled then ( las palmas and Reykjavik for Sep/ oct usually then get put on sale too ) .

Looking at the easyJet booking engine, this flight will operate for the first three Fridays in April too. Fridays usually see three EZY GVA rotations in the ski season. The EZS flight seems to have replaced one of those although with different timings.

The easyJet GVA ski season programme is beginning to run down. Tomorrow there are only four rotations instead of the five that operate for most of the season on Saturdays, with Sunday reducing from four to three.

I can't remember seeing an EZS GVA flight before except on Saturdays (as you pointed out) when in recent years around half term an EZS rotation has operated in addition to the usual five EZY rotations.

Last year's Mayfly shows that the 14 aircraft then based were fully utilised on Saturday and Sunday mornings in peak summer.

EZY Alcante to Belfast landed at Bristol due to medical emergency last night at approx 7 pm. Plane went to BFS after passenger removed to ambulance.

The extra flights during august to paphos and Bordeaux have now been removed for some reason

Additionally the second Saturday service to Pisa has been dropped but there is now an extra pmi on a Tuesday

They are beginning to become a bit like Ryanair used to be - putting in flights for booking then later removing them. I wonder if two Saturday Pisas was an attempt to dilute the BACF Florence and for whatever reason - perhaps unacceptable forward bookings - easyJet has changed its mind.

So that's a net loss of three rotations each week in August. I wonder how many more rotations will need to disappear before the 16th based aircraft in that month becomes unnecessary.

Those extra flights were only for a few weeks and I've commented many times over the last few months about how weird the schedule was. Lots of other routes have time changes so hopefully it won't change the aircraft base number

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
