Still no increase in rotations to CDG. This is sure a strange one.
Maybe the yield on it isn't the greatest so they don't want to trash it? Paris CDG can't be a cheap airport to operate to.

Indeed. We are all sometimes seduced by consistent high load factors on routes although bmi regional is increasing its own CDG service up to 3 x daily on some days so they seem to be able to cope with CDG costs.

It may well be the scale of the costs. It could be for the size of their aircraft the yields for them are good or excellent encouraging them to add more frequencies and with the type of passengers they carry frequency on routes makes it more attractive and might encourage more passengers rather than spreading the ones they have and reducing their yield.

The rest of the winter schedule has been released. Venice and Prague are daily whilst Madrid goes 8 weekly.
Venice will see double daily in February and March with both easyJet and Ryanair operating on every day of the week. I also note that Madrid is 8 x weekly for three weeks in December as well as in February and March with Thursdays seeing two rotations. I can't remember Madrid more than single daily in the past.

With all the Venice rotations operated by VCE-based aircraft (I think that's been the case most of the time since easyJet re-started VCE) it helps the traffic flows albeit winter is not as bad as summer in that regard. The Thursday Madrid timings make it possible to have a day trip to the Spanish capital if anyone was of a mind. I do know one or two aviation nuts who've been to places like Alicante for a day trip.

We've been saying that some of the routes ought to see increased frequencies. This sort of thing will be a good test. If they work in winter 2019 might see further increases on other routes when the summer schedule is announced later this year.

Does anyone know for certain how many 320s will be based at BRS this summer? One earlier post suggested 10 but that might have been peak summer when the 16th aircraft arrives.
I worked it out as 10 x a320s and 6 a319s during august at least.
9x A320s /6x A319s needed from May to mid-August
10x A320s /6x A319s needed for the mid to late August/early Sept peak

I did a random check with Mayfly just now and I note that tomorrow morning there are 14 EZY departures in the first wave - 9 x 320s and 5 x 319s. So it seems that aircraft number 15 arrives next month. Now that number 16 isn't coming for that short period in August I wonder if number 15 will still be a 319.

They've no doubt included Go but it works out at an average of nearly 3 million passengers a year over the 17 years. These days it's nearer 5 million a year.

John Parkin and his team did incredibly well to persuade Barbara Cassani and her team to open Go's second base at BRS, although she said in her book that the catchment sold itself. You have to wonder where BRS would be now had this not happened and had not easyJet bought Go.

Another unfortunate experience with the Funchal weather causing an easyJet aircraft to return to BRS with its passengers. I don't know what happened to those already in Madeira who were waiting to catch the return flight to BRS. This time of the year BRS-FNC only operates twice a week.

'Travel hell' according to the intrepid 'journalist'. No doubt the journo would have fought Mother Nature every step of the way.

Currently 8x A320s and 6x A319s are based at BRS.
From the end of this month and throughout the Summer 9x A320s and 6x A319s will be based.

Venice Marco Polo

I had a look at this route this evening to to see if I could get any idea as to whether easyJet (daily) or Ryanair (4 x weekly) might hold the upper hand. Based solely on the next week it looks as though easyJet is the more favoured by passengers although I emphasise it is only a snapshot based on a very short timescale.

Tomorrow the outbound Ryanair has 19 unoccupied seats (Ryanair usually fills its seats on the selector very late so more will probably be occupied in the morning) and easyJet's outbound has 9 unoccupied seats.

Thereafter the easyJet outbounds are already sold out on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday of next week, and the inbounds are sold out on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. It's difficult to compare Ryanair because, as I said, they fill their seats on their selector late for the most part. However, the available fare prices on a number of days (inbound and outbound) next week suggest that the flights are not yet near to sold out.

One thing to note though is that easyJet uses the smaller 156-seat A319 on five days each week with the A320 (presumably they all have 186 seats now, although the seat selector still shows 180) on the other two days.

I'll have a look later in the summer to see what the situation appears to be then.

Isle of Man TT 2018 (26 May - 08 June)

EasyJet operates 2x weekly on the BRS-IOM route throughout 2018, which is the same as 2017.

For the 2017 Isle of Man TT, EZY operated 4x weekly on the weeks of 29th May and 6th June 2017 (a total of 4x extra flights over the period).

This year however they are operating a considerably increased operation (a total of 14x extra flights over the period!)
There will be 5x weekly flights on the week of 21st May
Daily flights then operate for the weeks of 28th May and 4th June.
There will then we 3x weekly flights on the week of 11th June.

Not bad going given the already busy summer schedule!

Easyjet flight travelling from Stockholm to Bristol declared a medical emergency and diverted to Amsterdam.
Hopefully the person is ok.

The 15th easyJet based aircraft is active from next Friday (1 June). All 15 easyJet departures are scheduled between 0600 and 0730 per Mayfly.

0600 Catania 319
0605 Palma 320
0605 Malaga 319
0640 Murcia 320
0650 Faro 319
0655 Alicante 320
0700 Newcastle 320
0700 Lisbon 320
0705 Krakow 319
0715 Barcelona 320
0715 Tenerife 320
0715 Amsterdam 320
0715 Edinburgh 320
0725 Geneva 319
0730 Pisa 320

Overall there are 31 departures scheduled between 0530 and 0730 with all but one between 0600 and 0730: 15 easyJet, 4 Ryanair, 4 TUI, 4 bmi regional, 3 Thomas Cook, 1 KLM Cityhopper. In the day as a whole 109 departures are listed, excluding the Airbus and BAE corporate shuttles.

Friday is not particularly exceptional either so there will need to be smart work by airline and airport staff to keep all those punters content. I shall be flying out during that crowded period later next month. I can't say the prospect fills me with great joy.

I will be flying out to Nice in September around lunchtime so hoping that all this morning schedule gets away on time.

Marseille got cancelled today due to crew going over their hours.

Sadly the passengers had already checked in and reached departures.

French ATC causing problems.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
