Maybe the yield on it isn't the greatest so they don't want to trash it? Paris CDG can't be a cheap airport to operate to.Still no increase in rotations to CDG. This is sure a strange one.

Indeed. We are all sometimes seduced by consistent high load factors on routes although bmi regional is increasing its own CDG service up to 3 x daily on some days so they seem to be able to cope with CDG costs.Maybe the yield on it isn't the greatest so they don't want to trash it? It may well be the scale of the costs. It could be for the size of their aircraft the yields for them are good or excellent encouraging them to add more frequencies and with the type of passengers they carry frequency on routes makes it more attractive and might encourage more passengers rather than spreading the ones they have and reducing their yield.Indeed. Venice will see double daily in February and March with both easyJet and Ryanair operating on every day of the week. I also note that Madrid is 8 x weekly for three weeks in December as well as in February and March with Thursdays seeing two rotations. I can't remember Madrid more than single daily in the past. The rest of the winter schedule has been released. Venice and Prague are daily whilst Madrid goes 8 weekly.
Does anyone know for certain how many 320s will be based at BRS this summer? One earlier post suggested 10 but that might have been peak summer when the 16th aircraft arrives.
I worked it out as 10 x a320s and 6 a319s during august at least.
9x A320s /6x A319s needed from May to mid-August
10x A320s /6x A319s needed for the mid to late August/early Sept peak
They've no doubt included Go but it works out at an average of nearly 3 million passengers a year over the 17 years. These days it's nearer 5 million a year.https://www.punchline-gloucester.com/articles/aanews/airline-reaches-milestone-at-west-airport
50 million passengers been handled by easyJet
I did a random check with Mayfly just now and I note that tomorrow morning there are 14 EZY departures in the first wave - 9 x 320s and 5 x 319s. So it seems that aircraft number 15 arrives next month. Now that number 16 isn't coming for that short period in August I wonder if number 15 will still be a 319.
The 15th easyJet based aircraft is active from next Friday (1 June). All 15 easyJet departures are scheduled between 0600 and 0730 per Mayfly.
0600 Catania 319
0605 Palma 320
0605 Malaga 319
0640 Murcia 320
0650 Faro 319
0655 Alicante 320
0700 Newcastle 320
0700 Lisbon 320
0705 Krakow 319
0715 Barcelona 320
0715 Tenerife 320
0715 Amsterdam 320
0715 Edinburgh 320
0725 Geneva 319
0730 Pisa 320
Overall there are 31 departures scheduled between 0530 and 0730 with all but one between 0600 and 0730: 15 easyJet, 4 Ryanair, 4 TUI, 4 bmi regional, 3 Thomas Cook, 1 KLM Cityhopper. In the day as a whole 109 departures are listed, excluding the Airbus and BAE corporate shuttles.
Friday is not particularly exceptional either so there will need to be smart work by airline and airport staff to keep all those punters content. I shall be flying out during that crowded period later next month. I can't say the prospect fills me with great joy.
