Montreal is a very nice city and also has a few ski resorts nearby not to mention Quebec City isn't that far away either. So maybe they might look at it as a winter destination targeting skiers?

Agreed. Have been to both and they are nice cities especially Quebec

A very interesting interview with the Primera Vice President.

The general gist seems to be right time with the right equipment (40-45% cost saving over the 757) and the only direct competition being one stop services. It also says that by the end of 2018 there will be four A321LR?

Here are a few snippets but it's well worth reading the full article.

She concedes that there is a lot of brand-building to do in the UK, where Primera Travel Group has had no presence at all, but says: “We’ve been in the market in Europe for 14 years – we’re not a start-up. You can compare us to something similar to Jet2holidays.”

Unlike Norwegian, Primera will fly to primary airports, including Newark, which she believes will give it the edge. “We won’t go to secondary airports – we want to offer low fares, but you are going to New York and Boston. Being an unknown brand in the market, it’s really hard to make people go to an unknown airport where you have to spend $200 to get to the city.

“We have a completely different product. Would you willingly stop somewhere like Reykjavik if you could go direct for the same fare or [for a] price difference that’s not that huge?”

“How we approach the market is generally to focus on e-marketing and digital,” she says. “We also work with the local travel trade, business travel agencies and airports.

We’ve invited people to events and presentations about the airline. At Stansted, we’re also talking direct to businesses in the Cambridge area. Marketing is changing – it’s not about print, newspapers or putting banners in the street.”

That rules out a Reykjavik service then and I agree with them. Also reaffirms what we thought was the reason Icelandair pulled out.

All very promising and watch this space. My prediction? In 12 months they will be operating 6 TATL services.

Primera would not want people to use a BHX to KEF service to catch a TATL from there. So I would be very surprised if they ran the service. Someone else might. As a point to point I suspect a twice weekly maximum service. Popular place though it is, I doubt if it has the numbers to justify more than 1 or 2 a week service.

If that was the case, Primera wouldn’t be (about to offer) daily flights to BCN, one of the biggest low cost TATL hubs!

Whilst I don’t think KEF is on Primera radar, I would t put it past them. That said, they seem to like daily European flights which KEF is not!!!

Not many people would unless they have a some sort of codeshare with Icelandair or WOW. Unless you plan a stopover in Iceland it's not worth the risk of having 2 separate tickets and potentially missing your connection if one of those flights gets cancelled or delayed.

On the subject of code share I only recently found out that someone who flew to JFK from within the US on a BA code share that was delayed so they missed the BA flight to LHR had to pay to book onto a later BA flight to LHR.

Apparently even though the feeder flight was a BA code share booked through BA with the flight to LHR it was not operated by BA so BA said that they were not responsible for the passengers arriving late into JFK and missing their flight.

Not how I thought code shares worked and worrying if it is true.

That is not my experience of KLM/Air France/Delta with delays and missed flights. Maybe BA's joint venture with AA is different? Or if it wasn't them maybe BA have a different codeshare conditions from everyone else!

Must admit I was shocked when I read the article. I think it was AA that caused the initial delay. Perhaps BA cutting corners again? Might need to read the small print.

I'm surprised with that as they have a joint venture and i thought the whole point of that was that they operated essentially as one airline. Guess not with BA!

Was at work earlier so here are the flight numbers and times. There are some very good prices at the moment.

PF 2931 BHX 16:45 BCN 19:55
PF 2932 BCN 20:55 BHX 22:15

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
