With Verona don't they at a lot of bases use other airlines like Flybe and Neos. Also this was only the first release, next one is April 2020.

G-TUIC operated a return charter to Aqaba today.

This winter sees several one-off flights or short series on the 787 to a variety of destinations, that flight was the first as far as I know.

EDIT: Here are the rest.
22nd Nov Aqaba
29th Nov Muscat
6th Dec Dubai
12th Dec Cochin
13th Dec Cochin
27th Dec Bangkok
10th Jan Bangkok
24th Jan Bangkok

Looks like Agadir's Thursday afternoon flight has been dropped for Summer 2019 & 2020, but is bookable for Winter 2019/20!

Comparing Summer 2020 v Summer 2019 the schedules appear the same except for :-

New Flight: as mention extra 787 flight to Orlando Sanford
Lost Flight: Faro on Monday has been dropped for 2020

both 2019 & 2020 still showing the usual Wednesday/Saturday gap for Verona, and the Malta PO Cruise flights on Thursday afternoon.

with the dropping of Agadir, one aircraft is now sat on the tarmac Thursday afternoon/evening!

still early days yet!

Send out a press release making a big fuss about flights, drop those flights a week or two later? How very TUi.

I suppose it will at least give Air Arabia some breathing room as from what I have heard their loads so far have been beyond abysmal.

The TUi website shows Lefkas/Parga weekly on Monday's although when you try to book it says that the holidays are all gone.

Hopefully it's not a glitch and we'll see Preveza back next summer.

TUI are doing their usually prunning for next summer!

Dropped are Faro and Funchal morning flights on Mondays, Malaga on Wednesday evening, Antalya on Friday, and as mentioned the Thursday Agadir flight.

An extra Antalya is added to Thursday morning, with an empty slot currently showing for Monday morning, along with a few timing changes on other flights, notably Enfidha on Monday which is now on a 'W' pattern to East Midlands.

Marella Cruises customers take off from Birmingham on the UK’s only direct flights to Langkawi, Malaysia
Marella Cruises customers jetted off from Birmingham on the UK’s only direct flights to Langkawi, Malaysia. TUI Airways is operating the flights to fly cruisers to the Langkawi homeport for Enchanting Far East and Eastern Sunsets itineraries, forming part of Marella Cruises’ new Asia programme as the cruise line continues its pledge of offering its customers more choice and flexibility.
Birmingham Airport celebrated the milestone with cake and gifts for customers boarding. The Boeing 787 then took off for Langkawi with excited cruisers onboard.
Marella Cruises is the only cruise line to operate cruise-only flights on its own exclusive airline, providing customers with a seamless end-to-end customer experience. Flying from regional airports, the third largest cruise line in the UK gives customers the opportunity to travel from the airport most convenient for them. The brand new TUI Airways flights to Langkawi will make it relaxing and stress-free for local customers to start their holiday, before enjoying fantastic, adult-only itineraries onboard Marella Discovery.

Managing Director of Marella Cruises, Chris Hackney said: “We’re really excited to be launching inaugural flights from the UK to Langkawi in Malaysia. We’re always looking at ways we can offer our customers even more flexibility and choice when it comes to choosing a cruise and the TUI Airways flights mark the next step in our continued effort to give our customers the best holiday experience.
As part of our new Asia programme, our itineraries from Langkawi offer customers amazing destinations to some of the most sought out corners of the world, all alongside nothing but the best service onboard our ships with the friendliest staff at sea.”
Tom Screen Acting Aviation Director at Birmingham Airport commented: “To have the UK’s first ever direct flight to Langkawi operate from Birmingham Airport is just fantastic. Creating varied packages is key to providing our customers with ease of travel. A package like this allows our customers to experience a range of exotic climates and cultures across multiple destinations, all in one trip.
“To celebrate the momentous occasion, employees from both the Airport and TUI gathered at the departure gates, along with passengers due to board the flight. The atmosphere was great – every seat was filled.
“The cruise-only flight will be operating fortnightly until the end of March 2019. We hope all passengers enjoy this fantastic cruise experience on its very own exclusive airline.”

I wonder what the loads have been like so far? Pretty sure another flight operated this week.

Whether the route comes back next year would depend on the success of the cruise package, they have to find up to three thousand or so passengers per trip so it would depend on the take up from the uk as a whole can't find the cruise running next year so probably a dead duck all round.

The ship will go elsewhere so maybe we get a different destination he says optomisticly

Good to have these x 2 underserved destinations (y)

So BRS gets the 787 on the following routes and BHX gets a 757 on Chania. As much as i love a good old 757, its not much of a change from a 737-800
787-8
Bristol – Dubrovnik eff 02MAY19 1 weekly
Bristol – Dalaman eff 01MAY19 1 weekly
Bristol – Larnaca eff 02MAY19 1 weekly

Not all good for BRS with TUI though because the Dalaman replaces Sal which operated on a 787 in summer 2018 and now looks as though it's really been downgraded - to a 738 - next summer despite very high load factors on the 787 in summer 18. The 787 will also op BRS-CUN (2 x weekly) and SFB as last summer except CUN is increased from weekly.

However, BRS seems to be losing its two based 757s for summer 19 with 738s replacing them meaning the base will be 4 x 738s, and a 787 five days a week. I make the overall package a loss of at least 40,000 TUI seats at BRS next summer over summer 18 so, as I said, not all good at all in the West.

I think the difference is that BHX's 787s operate long haul flights every day during the summer so there may not be space to operate short haul routes for them.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
