I would like to know if MAEL have returned by another entity if using the hangar and why a pair of relatively new B789's are in for attention?

it was one of the highlights when we had frequent visits by exotics to MAEL, a change from the usual flow of scheduled types, this past week excepted.

having a MD11 and A340 has offered spotters a reason to get out and record the visits.

Probably the same reason as posted by Big Vern back in early July -

Apple aviation carrying out engine changes, Adhoc hangar use.

Are the 787's still having problems with the RR Trent 1000's?

Hi Kevin, the Royal Jordanian was probably arriving with refugees from the war in Syria from Beirut. There have been several similar flights in the last couple of years always from Beirut arriving very early in the morning.Regards,Simon.
Thanks for the info, Simon. That's quite interesing.
I did a search on FR24 the next day and found this -

I had assumed it was some error on FR24, but your explanation seems to make sense. Do you know if they've flown refugees into BHX before?

Kevin

I am so sorry Kevin to have missed Big Vern and his posts. I sometimes have to disappear from the forum and get a little behind. I know better now thanks to those better informed!

There have been several flights in the last few years usually flown by lesser known European charter airlines.Dont think Jordanian have been in before but stand to be corrected.Thanks,Simon.

The doors pf the MAEL hangar were opened at
about 9am to let a Flybe Dash inside enabling the
2 NEOS 787`s to be seen. Most of NEO could be seen
but only a wing and horizontal stabiliser of NUA.

Ray could you confirm the registrations of those aircraft?

Not a good time for the industry. I will be tracking "Operation Matterhorn" frequently purely because of the scale and complexity of the operation rather than the circumstances that have caused it. Considering that most aircraft that would be used for this operation are currently being leased to cover for 737 MAX issues, the scope of where aircraft will be brought in from has widened significantly. This is a mammoth of a task for the CAA

Still my thoughts are for the staff of TCX who now have to find new jobs, I hope the process is quick and easy for all of them. I'm sure the vast majority will be taken in by airlines that will welcome their years of experience and knowledge of the industry.

Not sure which thread to post in.
Just watched a TUI 757 from Mahon to Manchester diverted into BHX sqwaking emergency. 5 fire trucks awaiting it’s arrival. All trucks moved back to station rapidly so assume all is ok.
2150 time.
Edit - it landed on rwy 33 although 15 was being used, so a few ac holding at Chase.

Blimey that was one heck of an emergency if it could not make it a further 10 mins along the M6....did it leave shortly afterwards? I hope everything and everyone was fine.
