It's 3x weekly right now if I'm not mistaken? Not sure where the tweeters have got the idea that this is new

In previous years it has been 3x weekly from June until mid Sept with it 2x weekly during the shoulder periods either side.

At the moment it's showing as 3x weekly from April right through until October but, as we've seen before, there is still time for a reduction.

Some service reduction on Budapest route reported on routes online

Budapest – Birmingham eff 31MAR20 Planned A321neo operation removed. A320 continues operating. Overall service reduces from 3 to 2 weekly

Poland now showing for winter and so far it looks the same as this winter.

Krakow - 3x weekly
Warsaw - 2x weekly (3rd flight returns over Christmas)
Poznan - 2x weekly
Wroclaw - 2x weekly

The remaining routes are now bookable for winter.

Budapest 2x weekly, Cluj - Napoca 2x weekly and Bucharest 3x weekly.

As it stands I think the schedule is pretty much similar to this winter but changes may well happen.

This mornings Wizz flight from Budapest took the most bizarre routing I've seen for a long time. Must have been killing time before our 08.00hrs opening time!. Not good kn the fuel consumption!.

Without going into too much detail BHX is a very profitable destination for Wizz which kind of produces a dilemma. Do you increase frequency and in turn passenger throughput but risk diluting the yields, or keep a lower frequency and continue to reap the profit?

Us enthusiasts want the new routes and increased frequencies but the airline just wants as much profit as possible. Besides, as has already been said, Wizz have been desperate to get into LGW for a while and they now have their chance, plus we have LTN practically on our doorstep.

That said I'd like to see an increase to Bucharest, we've gone from 8x weekly summer and 6x weekly winter to a flat 3x weekly year round. I'm sure Wizz could bump it up to four, or even five, times weekly and still make good money :)

Would Luton get in the way of a base at BHX?. Along with the obvious one Gatwick when not if, logical steps down the line would possibly be to add to those two London airports BHX, DSA and Liverpool on our shores not all straight away some a decade away even but bit by bit they are spreading the net of bases Germany with Dortmund now to go along with Milan where next a base in France it seems like Wizz are desperate to make it a big three not just the big two they are going to have to put all these aircraft on order somewhere its almost if you get lucky time for the airports who will crave the arrival of a Wizz base.

Anecdotal evidence I know but over the years I have spoken to many people who travel regularly to the likes of Poland and Romania from LTN when direct flights are available from Birmingham as Luton has a greater choice of frequency and the prices are usually cheaper.

Just as an example a one way flight to Bucharest on Nov 24th with Wizz from BHX is currently showing at £77.99, the same date from Luton is £34.99, less than half the price. From Luton you also have the choice of three flights per day compared to three flights per week from BHX. Even so Wizz generally get good load factors out of Birmingham and seem to be making decent money so the demand must be there but whether a potential BHX base would dilute LTN and to what extent only Wizz would know.

I do hope so.

I get the feeling that the next few years will be mostly about LGW, I could see them going very big there. I've always thought that DSA was the most likely candidate for their first base outside of London, it seems a good destination for Wizz.

They look to be open to offers at the moment so who knows what will happen.

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
