▶️ Video Review: Birmingham Airport Videos

Also I was watching a video last night of a trip between BHX-Skiathos with TUI last week and I still find it weird to see Ryanair parked at the main pier and the old Eurohub not being used for any flights at the moment 😢

But its the same all over Europe, at BCN Ryanair/Easyjet/Vueling all share the same terminal that Vueling use. The older Lo-cost terminal is out of use at the moment.

Just like the airlines grounding older planes as they're less efficient, so will airports keep closed the older, less efficient terminals.

Eurohub at BHX closed, LHR only using T2 & T5 (the newest terminals), LGW South Terminal closed (the older one).

Newer terminals are generally cheaper to operate as they've been designed that way.

Drones near an airport :wideyed:

I probably should have posted this from the video creator(s).

Drone aerial filming at Birmingham Airport from Hopgrove Productions. As licenced CAA Approved commercial drone operators, we were able to secure special permission from Birmingham Airport to record video and images of the airport. During the filming we worked closely with Air Traffic Control. We provided a large amount of filming and photography in the Birmingham area for the local council to promote the Birmingham Hub.

Just seen this video and towards the end when the TUI 757 pulls onto the main pier, looks like Easyjet are using or parking at T2 ??

I believe it's for the processing of the domestic/CTA arrivals pax which is done through T2 even though the rest of it remains closed.

Is this a recent thing? When we flew back from Dublin last year with Aer Lingus we were bussed to T2 on arrival despite departing from T1. Pervious return trips with Aer Lingus has always used T1. Makes sense for EZY, Blue Islands and Aurigny to use T2 now there’s plenty of tarmac space.

Seems to be fairly new.

Last year I returned from BFS on easyjet and likewise we were bussed to T2 despite parking at the far end of the T1 pier.

Although nowhere near anything like normal it's nice to be posting videos of actual aircraft again rather than empty spaces 🙂

Today I woke up with a hunger to see some planes, it has been such a long time I was literally starving plane action, lol. I got my stuff together and headed over to BHX for the "mini" early afternoon rush 🙂

Sorry about the wind on top of the car park hill, it does get rather blowy and it is even more open now as there are literally no cars :wideyed:

Fantastic video 👍

I do miss that place, I don't think I've been at all this year 🙁

How did I know that 103CR and that one on Broad St (can't remember the name) would make an appearance 😆

Heads Up!

For some weird reason, my days off work tend to involve being out of my flat by 5am and not getting back until 10pm. Back to work and the regular "fix" of 7.40am to 7.15pm hours
Heatwave Mk2 next week?
Some explosive weather build-ups currently in the North of England. What is it like where you are?

I don't believe I am quite covering enough roles at work. Its now 4 on a bad day, 5 on a good day and there is scope for a 6th and 7th role. Still on minimum pay but had the biggest payrise in the company,
