Totally agree. I am not really REALLY old but I couldn't hope with all that stuff. Far too much hassle. It's bad enough just booking the holiday and flights. I won't be flying on holiday until things are normal enough to allow things like that to be confined to history. I may be waiting a while.........

The Government need to get the Home Office and NHS working together to produce a double vaccine certificate that goes in your passport. It needs to have s photo with it so it cannot just be passed around. It needs to be in the passport.
If you download the NHS app, not the Covid app, there is a section within the app which shows you the dates you have had the two vaccinations together with are QR code that airlines, business etc can scan which confirms all the details. Surely something like this could open the way to resuming resuming flights and holidays. Yes, i suspect this will become the “vaccination passport” that we will have to use to travel (and more than likely to get into some domestic venues). It also shows your name and date of birth so can be reconciled with your passport to stop misuse.

Looks to me that Eastern are combining their Southampton and Newquay flights together on today’s flights,

I thought they were supposed to be adding more LBA-Newquay flights for the school holidays, but can't find those on their website?

Not strictly LBA, but may have ramifications for us. Eastern have pulled the plug on flights from Teesside to Aberdeen, after many years of ops, and also to Southampton. Eastern 0 Loganair 1? Two operators was never going to work.
So, perhaps some spare aircraft capacity that could benefit LBA? Re-introduction of LBA to ABZ? Unlikely but possible.
An LBA - EDI - ABZ would be good, even on a J41.

The J41's really are long in the tooth. It still amazes me that such a small airlines has so many different types in operation. Surely a J41 would be too small for a combined EDI/ABZ service if it ever happened. Having said that, a 4-car Voyager on a Penzance-Aberdeen is also far too small.

Maybe just to start up to build passenger loads, switching to something from this century when demand is there? The J41 is just hopeless on Newquay and LBA have asked Eastern to upgrade to the ATR72 - but it's still with us! I guess in the present situation, owt's better than nowt!

They have recently announced NCL-ABZ as i presume the replacement. LBA would be great, not sure how likely that would be.

It was suggested elsewhere that MME closure was possibly at the expense of LBA. Perhaps BHD is finally coming. They could do worse than reinstate ABZ twice daily and yes possibly do what Air Anglia used to do and combine it with EDI. And agree with WH, a J41 to build up loads is a good starter as long as they don’t keep going tech. I just have a feeling something is afoot here...........

We don’t know what Easterns plans are currently and I believe the reason for them cutting back and leaving MME was due to Loganair which has already been pointed out on here.

I do hope though LBA is on the eastern airways managements mind and some nice new routes are what they’re thinking.

So has anyone heard any more rumours, hints or definite news as to whether T3 are to expand at LBA? Re BHD we have BACF reasonably well established now and the possibility of Emerald starting so along with U2 on BFS not sure that is in their thinking any longer? Also quite irritatingly they stop NQY at end of October. Would have thought that would have supported at least a Mon and Fri rotation through winter. But all that doesn’t point towards an optimistic piece of expansion news to me. Certainly no rumours in the business travel industry that I am aware of!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
