There was media release on INN. Plus it was added a while ago. Most new routes get some coverage at some point. But ones that are cut not as much. But usually someone points cuts out.

No surprise with Geneva. Even easyJet has cut its forthcoming ski season offering to GVA to 20 departures per week, slightly down on recent ski seasons before the pandemic. No doubt a reflection of the effects that the pandemic will still bring about. I wouldn't be surprised to see some amalgamated GVA flights this winter either. TUI usually operates its own weekly ski flight to GVA too. I don't know whether it's operating this year or if it is (in the sense of offering TUI holidays) whether TUI will use easyJet this year. The timings in the TUI timetable are very similar to one of easyJet's daily departures.

Grenoble axing by Jet2 is perhaps more of a surprise as there are only three departures per week shown with other airlines: easyJet 2 x weekly and Ryanair weekly.

Axing routes with no public announcement in contrast to the public fanfares that new routes usually receive from airlines and airports is something that gets my goat. It seems to be a common practice across the industry.

It's not good publicity for any company no matter what industry to advertise stopping selling something. You wouldn't get a supermarket publicly saying they are stopping selling an item on a TV advert.
Those that intend to book a route will soon find out when they try and book it and it's not there to book until that point no-one really needs to know. That will be a small minority.
No-one knows about new routes, so a big campaign is needed to create awareness and make people book.

Bus companies announce routes that are to be axed in the same way that they publicise new ones. In my area First revises its services two or three times a year with specific details of new, reduced or axed routes published on its website and in the local press. They probably do the same on social media but I never visit those sites.

A quick look at a Saturday in August 2022 shows 6x based aircraft operating 14x departures throughout the day (2x aircraft operate 3x round-trips, and the other 4x operate 2x round-trips).

The first wave of departures from BRS on a Saturday morning in peak summer are:

Jet2 has needed three aircraft regularly for the first wave this late summer since things began to pick up.

All B737-800 according to GDS. the only bigger aircraft with Jet2 appear to be all based at MAN (A321/B757/A332)

Jet2.com and Jet2holidays have reported that demand for winter holidays is returning to pre-pandemic levels as they add even more flights and holidays to their first Winter Sun programme from Bristol Airport, on the back of very strong demand from holidaymakers looking to enjoy some winter sunshine.

The additional flights to the Canary Islands and Turkey offer customers and independent travel agents even greater choice and flexibility when it comes to enjoying or offering a holiday in the sunshine for the first time this winter from Bristol Airport with Jet2.com and Jet2holidays. The additional flights added for Winter 21/22 from Bristol Airport are as follows:

Introduction of additional Wednesday services to Tenerife from the UK’s leading operator to the Canaries from 3rd November up to 15th December. This is on top of extra Sunday services to the popular Winter Sun destination from 9th January to 6th February and more Thursday services from 17th February to 24th March.

Extra Monday and Friday services operating to Dalaman from the base on 5th and 8th November for customers looking to enjoy some Turkish sunshine this winter.
