That’s a shame. With the reduction in capacity from Emirates, Air India, PIA, and no flights from Turkmenistan, QR could’ve benefited from this.

Don't forget QR has A330's QR don't even want to you know they have any as it doesn't have the Q Suite it has there old Bussiness Class.
Well that’s because they were supposed to be all retired but were put back into service with QTR due to the A350 issues.

Not sure BHX will see Qatar anytime soon.
Hopefully S23 but the longer it goes on ..................

In fact I can't see many people going on holiday in S23 if these energy prices are going to be reality.

I certainly won't if prices just keep going up and up and up, something will have to give and unfortunately going on a plane will be one of the first things to get scrapped.

It will be challenging for lots of our airlines/tour operators in s23

Now where is that Wamos A330, it might be my last flight for a while ;-(

I agree BHX forecasted pre covid levels back in 2024, I think this may need to be re-assesed, 2023 etc will be difficult with cost of living etc

I think the above is a tad drastic guys, think we first need to see how it all pans out forward bookings are decent from what I've heard, any new government will be under extreme pressure to intervine !

Watching and reading less of the dooming and glooming sensationalising mainstream press works trust me !

I remember the ridiculously over negative dooming of covid and how air travel would take years to recover ! Yet here we are S22 and 75% of pre covid levels already.

People still need breaks and will do it even if a higher number on a budget. Car sales and such like big luxeries could see a turndown however !

I would be shocked if bhx doesn't get close to pre covid next year let alone s24 ! The airport of course will always be Conservative with its predictions not wanting to be caught short always better to be over rather than under the predicted figures 😉

Hope so Paul

However the travel industry is on its knees, so we might all be travelling again, doesn't mean it has recovered.

Yes I agree something will need to be done, otherwise people will be dying from the cold and possibly from starvation

People might need breaks but people need lots of things, doesn't mean we get them.

I agree there is high demand for Qatar to start flights from Birmingham BHX hope fingers crossed they come back hugh profits to be made

I think if demand was so good they would have started from October before world cup as would make money when high fares could be charged

Let’s hope Gulf air who have been in a few times recently, have been reminded about BHX as they came very close to starting scheduled flights before EK arrived on the scene

I just telephoned 03332027776 GULF AIR - spoke to a gentleman in Bahrain he said "Thank You will email relevant department to let them know that Birmingham wants GULF AIR Flights " hope they do come as well fingers crossed high demand ....

Having Qatar as a resident carrier is clearly good for BHX but given the unpleasant dispute with Airbus, I personally have no time or interest in the airline. I await the outcome of High Court proceedings before I soften my position!

It’s really sad if you think Qatar Airways started Doha-Birmingham in 2016 to link two hosts cities together for the Commonwealth Games & FIFA World Cup & I always thought they would restart the Birmingham service just before the Commonwealth games but they didn’t :(

Hi is there any update on Qatar Airways return? Looking on the ACL Report it looks like they have applied for 2x daily slots.

All checked in for my flight to Sydney from Manchester via Heathrow. Been waiting for this trip for nearly a year and now tomorrow I'll finally head to Australia and New Zealand!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
