Highly probable for logistical purposes, BHX will be the departure point for team but sponsorship deals may dictate airline, FA or carrier needs to depart elsewhere. Hope it's BA or QANTAS special service ex BHX.
I would say a Virgin Atlantic plane is more likely than BA or QANTAS as the mens’ team used Virgin in 2022 for the World Cup.

Good to see BBC Midlands Today have a reporter on the apron at BHX for the re-commencement of the Emirates A380 service. Also an interview with Nick Barton, where he mentioned the start of Saudia tomorrow, and Qatar on Thursday.
Also mention of the new routes from EasyJet next spring.
On a more concerning note, also commenting on the looming industrial action at BHX in several areas, including aircraft refuelling ☹.
However he seemed optimistic of a solution 🙂.

I am thinking about going to do some plane spotting at BHX next week. Where would be the best place to go? I’ll most likely take public transport as I don’t want to pay the expensive airport parking fees.

Depending on which runway is in use and what sort of view you are after I'd say the best choices are either the train to Birmingham International then a stroll to the viewing spot in car park 5 or the train to Marston Green and a walk down to Sheldon Country Park. Depending on where you are coming from there may also busses to both locations.

I’m thinking of going around lunchtime to catch EK, QR and SV. Tomorrow would probably be quite busy so I’d rather go next week. Which runway is generally in use around that time? I’m guessing I’ll have to check on the day in case there are any changes due to weather or any other circumstances.

Putting this here as I think its the most appropriate place.

With Saudi, Emirates and Qatar all arriving in less than an hour along with Air France, KLM, Lufthansa , Jet2 and two from TUI I wonder how the arrival process coped, hopefully it went O.K. as the airport and and service operators had plenty of notice.

Nothing on the airports Twitter which often seems the go to place for people to have a moan, so hopefully that's a good sign.

Unfortunately airports often seem to be at the mercy of UKBF but with plenty of notice hopefully they managed to get their staffing levels right 🤞

Hi Adam,

If Runway 33 is in use and you go to Car Park 5, these are the kinds of views you will get ;-)

Polite request.

It's been an exciting few days for BHX and it's great to see so much enthusiasm on this forum :)

Going forward could we please put expected aircraft movements in the 'BHX Movements and Heads Up' thread, rather than in each individual airline thread.

Please note that this is a general request and not directed at any one individual. I just feel that the forum would be much more user friendly if those wanting to know a particular days comings & goings had it all in one place, this then leaves each of the individual airline threads for news.

Many thanks in advance for your co-operation.

I do always do though. What’s so annoying about writing movements is that there’s always that extra flight or 2 that gets added the next morning and seriously rattles me

As I said, this is a general request and not aimed at any one individual in any way.

Believe me I totally get it.

Please feel free to quote your own post maybe adding something such as "in addition to the above we also now expect......." or words to that effect.

It's been bought to my attention (and I happen to agree) that people log on to the forum at the end of the day and get excited seeing several airline forums with new posts only to then be left disappointed when all that's there are aircraft movements.

We'll give it a go and review in due course 👍

I know I’m gonna get my head snapped off for posting this but going past A45 earlier towards NEC I seen a few people standing on the mound .Specifically one person on a ladder. Now I’m not saying it’s allowed or not but I feel like it’s one rule for airport action and one rule for others and also where are the signs that say it’s prohibited and it is airport property? It really baffles me

By 'earlier', I assume you mean today. If you view Airport Actions video from today, you will see that it was all filmed from Sheldon Country Park. So, if you did see it today, whoever was on the step ladder was not Airport Action. Airport Action were recently moved on from car park 5, when the airport found out that the video was monetised. The airport seems more tolerant of enthusiasts who are just taking personal photos/videos.

no it wasn’t airport action. It was someone else.I actually feel for airport action that they can’t stream from the mound. This is why it’s one rule for them and another for someone else.At the moment it’s for the public to use. It’s not airport property until I see signs or notices from the airport it’s self.

Ant, if you check out this link, and click on "Here is a map of the area that the byelaws apply to", you can see the areas of land around the airport that is covered by their bylaws, which I believe covers the location of the mound.

https://www.birminghamairport.co.uk/about-us/birmingham-airport-byelaws

The issue with any video streamers on Birmingham's land is that no one (or company) can make any money from a video stream or any other venture that involves money, without BHX's permission. The people you saw on the mound, I presume were taking photos/videos for their own purposes only.

I would imaging they would eventually be moved on by the airport police for being on BHX's land if they had been there for a while. I'm sure the airport police have more pressing issues to deal with day in day out, so won't go charging across to the mound to kick off the odd spotter straight away!

survived a redundancy scenario where I work for the 3rd time. Now it looks likely I will get to cover work for 2 other teams.. Pretty please for a payrise? That would be a no and so stay on the min wage.
Live in Market Bosworth and take each day as it comes......
Well it looks like I'm off to Australia and New Zealand next year! Booked with BA from Manchester via Heathrow with a stop in Singapore and returning with Air New Zealand and BA via LAX to Heathrow. Will circumnavigate the globe and be my first trans-Pacific flight. First long haul flight with BA as well and of course Air NZ.
15 years at the same company was reached the weekend before last. Not sure how they will mark the occasion apart from the compulsory payirse to minimum wage (1st rise for 2 years; i was 15% above it back then!)
