Yes, resume the Karachi service, remembering the A310's and Boeing 743's that visited Birmingham* every week, seeing them sail over Bloxwich on approach to BHX.
Were you in Bloxwich? That's where I was born and brought up until I went away to Uni. After Uni, I returned to Bloxwich and lived at my parents for 5 years as I was working at Aston Uni.

Kevin sir, I was at the little people's school in Burntwood, a chorister at the parish church there and later plyed my work in Cannock which often routed through Bloxwich en route back to base in Redditch, deliberate to catch aircraft at Little Aston. I took the scenic route often to visit odd places where aircraft may be. Plane spotting was not always at the busy airports........the topic was Pakistan Airways and the sight of the Boeing 747-300 flying low was enough to make the day.

According to an article by Reuters today, the Pakistan Government is to release PIA for privitisation.

It will also outsource its countries airport services.

This will probably further delay the restart of any services to the UK.

Yeah, they will need to renegotiate ground services, fuel company agreements etc

On the other hand, PIA might be a more attractive acquisition once it has restarted European/US services.

According to "Jetline International" , Both Boeing and Airbus are likely to stop providing spare parts to PIA imminently.

If that's true probably the end of near time restart to the UK from PIA.

The airline is technically bankrupt and the government is refusing to bankroll them. They have 15 aircraft withdrawn from use, at least 3 write offs. The good news is that the senior management is demanding a pay rise!

I doubt we will see them back in UK.

As for Air Sial, don’t hold your breath.

Why would air sial operate to BHX if airlines larger like Airblue haven’t even thought about it..?

That means airblue is still able to, as they have A321neos which are capable

Don't forget Airblue tried BHX a few years back briefly. Their flights proved rather unreliable at the time, and they soon stopped. They don't appear to operate any long haul routes at the moment.

PIA are cancelling domestic and international routes at quite a high rate due to their financial issues. Read into that what you will.........

All of the above because some individuals chose to present fake or falsified licences to obtain work. It does not inspire confidence when travelling on airlines of the region, or any airline anywhere. To be able for me to practice in Law, I require professional training and the licence to practice. My illness prevents this so I chose a scholarly path and continue to read or contemplate all matters legal. To offer FORMAL legal advice to any person in exchange for a fee renders me liable to a charge of fraudulent representation, and without asking a fee, a charge of deception. Such activity on my part is no less dangerous as is unlicenced flying.

Pakistan could do better and dissolve PIA and start again from scratch.

I would not bet on that. PIA are in a terrible mess. The government wants to close it down. The original plan was MAN, CDG and later LHR. But I do not see it happening.

I'm sure I read last week in the aviation press that the Pakistan government said it will not allow PIA to go bust.

Personally I would prefer them not return to BHX for a good while or even not at all and let Emirates, Qatar, Saudi and Turkish continue to pick up the traffic and hopefully expand further. What PIA allowed to go on within its business was a disgrace not to mention potentially fatal to hundreds of people.

Heads Up!

For some weird reason, my days off work tend to involve being out of my flat by 5am and not getting back until 10pm. Back to work and the regular "fix" of 7.40am to 7.15pm hours
Heatwave Mk2 next week?
Some explosive weather build-ups currently in the North of England. What is it like where you are?

LBA: Albastar B737-800 EC-MUB positioning in tommorow afternoon from Gatwick 15:45 to operate a charter to Lourdes/Tarbes on Friday afternoon 14:00 AP7721 STC
I don't believe I am quite covering enough roles at work. Its now 4 on a bad day, 5 on a good day and there is scope for a 6th and 7th role. Still on minimum pay but had the biggest payrise in the company,
